Pop Century beds really big enough for 4 grown adults?

I grew up going to Wdw with my uncles family. We stayed at moderates and deluxe and they stayed at values. We met up at the parks and for meals but went our own ways at the end of the day or for afternoon breaks. We had our own space without having to wait around for one another and if someone was late, we continued and met up when everyone was there. I would stay where you want to and let the others stay where they want to. You'll have plenty of time together!

Honestly I could not recommend that for someone who is new to Disney. I would feel so bad with 4 in one value room. Those beds are tiny! My parents came with us once and we stayed mod (we have done value many times) while they stayed value. My dad was upset at my mom for not going moderate when he realized what value really was. She reminded him he wanted to go as cheap as possible. To him it was not worth it.

I would recommend to them to skip a sit down or eat a couple breakfast in the room to alleviate the price difference. A comfortable nights sleep is more important than a themed dinner imho. Especially if you want happy campers on the trip!

The size of the rooms will bring a whole new meaning to the word " togetherness".

I second, maybe third, the thought of going with a standard room, and getting a 4th room! I've stayed both preferred and standard at Pop. I much prefer the standard rooms. I had a room once that was about as far from the main buildings as humanly possible...took about 6 mins to make the walk! I had much longer walks at the All Stars, POR and DVC resorts!!!
4 adults in one room is just not a good thing. Of course, if that's what they choose to do, it's up to them...but if they choose that route, I would tell them that I didn't want to hear any complaints every day!!!!

I loved Pop, but it was just my husband and I and the room was just fine. It isn't just the beds that would be uncomfortable for me with four adults, it would be the fact that with everyone's "stuff" and suitcases, there won't much room to even move without running into something or someone!

Hey guys!

So I am planning a trip later this year for me and my extended family (includes my family of 4, me, DH, DD (5) and DS (2); my cousin, her husband, and DD (2); and my aunt (62), cousin (41), mom (58), and dad (59). While my family of 4 would prefer to stay in a deluxe or moderate hotel, the rest of my family wants to do Disney in the cheapest way possible. So I am recommending we do Pop Century based on all my research on the Value Hotels (although I have convinced them to at least pay for a preferred room because I can't stand the long walks back to the hotel rooms after a day in the park).

Currently we are planning to get 3 rooms (1 for my family of 4, 1 for my cousin's family of 3, and 1 for the remaining adults - 4 adults). I'm worried the Pop Century rooms and beds are too small and won't be comfortable for the 4 adults. However, I don't want to add another room because of their cost concerns.

So my main question is - can 4 adults really share 1 Pop Century room? Are the beds really big enough for 2 adults. My family seemed to be un-phased by the thought of sharing a room. Would it better to recommend one of the adults share a room with my cousin's family? While my family of 4 has been to Disney before - the rest of the family has not. I'm trying to plan the best trip I possibly can for them (I want them to love it as much as I do!). So what would you do if you were me?

No, not comfortably anyway! My husband and I are just average size individuals and we are SO SO SO glad we made the decision to take our son's cot on our trip, so that he slept on the cot and we got our own beds. We were so tired after the parks and in need of good rest, that there is no way we would have slept well either together or sharing a bed with DS.

I would get 4 rooms. Standard...no room is really "far" at Pop. We have no problem sharing the double beds...we are not small people, either. But, 4 adults in a room = an extra $20/night anyway. Might as well just pony up and pay for an extra room

Thank you for all the suggestions! I don't know why I didn't think about downgrading to a standard and then adding a 4th room. I guess I was dead set on the preferred based on last year's experience at Kidani Village. I just thought the walk from the buses back to the room was obnoxious (our room was one of the farthest from the lobby). I thought it would be so much nicer to be closer to the lobby and buses.

I am going to recommend that to the family even though it's a little more cost. I know they are all just barely affording this trip (plus I'm planning on springing the Christmas party on them later - hopefully, they can help pay for that), so I wanted to be as careful as I can with the cost.

As for staying in different resorts - it's really just me and my husband that would prefer it. But it's more important to me to be close to my family since they have never been (I want to be their guide). Plus I want the hotel pool experience, etc. with them. If this wasn't their first time I would definitely consider staying elsewhere. Plus I am kind of excited about seeing the grounds at Pop Century. It looks like it will be fun for the kids, and I think my parents will get a kick out of all the nostalgia. It's just the rooms I'm not overly excited about after staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Grand Floridian before.

the pricier the resort the more spread out it tends to be in my opinion.
so in a deluxe i'd definitely consider a preferred room if i felt like the walk was going to be unmanageable.
but at POP its very small and the pathways are not too winding so its really not a bad walk from anywhere on property.

I stayed at Pop with my sister and teen nieces last June. No big deal. I guess it depends on those four adults?

We stayed in eighties and you could take a shortcut through the parking lot to the busses. Was not far at all.

Just a note-I think the pools will be pretty disappointing to you after Deluxe.

I am with you on all being together. ON our last big family trip we all chose a mod and my sil wanted a Deluxe. They did that and the rest of us were together. It did not feel like the big family trip it should have been.
