Pop and AOA pools

Just because there is a bridge connecting the two resorts doesn't mean pool hopping should be allowed. The monorail resorts are connected by monorail, and there is a walkway between the Poly and GF, yet those guests, rightfully, remain able to use their resort pool only. Same with the Epcot resort area. All 5 resorts are connected by one large walkway. YC/BC share their main pool, as does swan/dolphin, but they don't share pools among all resorts simply because they are close to each other.

I think if a pool is really important to a guest they should book a room at that resort. My kids have been begging to stay at BW for a while now. They think the pool looks super cool. I'm not sure I'd want to stay at BW for an entire trip. I rented DVC points from a friend for a one night stay in Aug. at the end of a weeklong trip so that my kids can swim in that pool, and we get to try a new resort. The main reason for the stay is to use the pool.

:eek:all i have to say if there is a will there is a way, w/out posting s security guard at each entrance people will push the limits of this, as in wait till some one goes in grab the gate and prop it open, or just say i am meeting my family on the other side and ask someone to open it, and then...gather up all 12 of there family and come in...just saying...:confused3:confused:

Wonder if you will be having to have a reservation in the cars area just to be able to rent one of the cabanas? And I wonder how much they will be? What about the lion king and little mermaid areas? Will the pools and such be just as amazing?
The Lion King will not have a Pool, but will have an amazing playground and I am sure the Flippin' Fins Pool at the Little Mermaid will be awesome as well-Disney is really "plussing" AoA!:)

I have asked in another Thread for info on the Cabanas at Cars, but no one seems to have any info at this time.:)

It seems like an awful lot of effort to try to sneak into a pool that you aren't supposed to be swimming in. I guess there are people who would do that sort of thing, but it seems sort of odd to me to do it. AoA is a value resort anyway, so why wouldn't they just stay there rather than try to sneak in?

I'm sure everyone wouldn't look suspicious withe swimwear and towels crossing that bridge. The one thing we did see a lot of when we walked across were castmembers. I think I saw more castmembers on the bridge and walk between the resorts than I saw other guest.

If you want to swim in the pool that badly, go ahead. Just don't lament at how little Johnny grew up to be so disrespectful of authority and always in trouble in fifteen years. After all, they only learned that rules weren't made to be followed if you didn't think they applied to you. ;)

I'm sure there will be plenty of "pool police" to make sure that their resort pool isn't being invaded by other resort guests to use their pool ;)

What if AoA uses a specific towels made just for AoA? And before the staff hands one to you at the pool gate, you have to show your room key. This way, if you don't have the AoA towel, then you must leave, because only with AoA towels can get in plus use the key to literally get through the gate. One towel per guest member. That means Joe Schmoe can't have 10 just so he can give it to his friends that is staying at POP. :) I don't mind the wristband either.. It's just a wristband and everyday they get different colors.

whats this about a wristband?

DW hates wristbands..

Just suggestions on how to keep POP guests in their pools and out of AoA pools.

Personally, I feel as other do...if you want to use the pool that badly, then book a night or two at that resort. Don't resort to pool hopping and getting caught. >_<

I figure Karma takes care of these types.

The pool at the Yacht/Beach Club is set up almost the same way. There are entrances to get in the pool area and the rest is closed in but it is difficult to see. Pretty Neat if you think about it!!!!

Y&B isn't exactly the same way -- I was there last night. We bought burgers at the snack shack because Beaches and Cream had a wait. We ate at the tables in front of the pool and snack shack. The Beaches and Cream hostess suggested going over to the snack shack because the wait to be seated was 1/2 and hour. Anyway, if you want to swim you need a wristband. The pirate ship slide area and entrance isn't fenced.

LOL. I have a neighbor who has many good qualities, but one really bad one. He has set some pretty bad examples for his family and loves to get over whenever he can. Last summer he went to Hershey Park and stayed at a small inexpensive motel, but went to The Hotel Hershey which is very fancy and expensive and spent the day at their brand new pool and sat in a cabana with his family all day (for free). He was telling me this like he was so proud of himself and I was just wondering, how he feels this was such a good thing.

Having said that, the guy has another side of him, where if you needed him, he will drop everything and be there for you (no questions asked). So I kind of look at all sides of people and try not to judge, but I for one would hate to pay for a fancy resort and see a family expecting to get what you paid for - for nothing.

Basically he is a good guy but cheap. ;)

Are they going to enforce the opposite as well - A fence around the hippy dippy pool to keep out AOA guests? I have no problem with AOA doing what they did, but I think it's an awful precedent to set of POP doesn't protect their guests in the same capacity. :confused3

Originally, the grounds that AoA sits on were supposed to be the 2nd half of POP, so there was no reason to enclose POP's pools.

I HIGHLY doubt anyone staying at AoA will go over to POP to swim. The AoA pools are gorgeous. Anyone who thinks about leaving AoA to look for another place to swim should have their head examined!:rotfl:

I'm one of those people that thinks all the resort pool areas should be room key accessible only. I loved that about the pool at BLT. I was actually followed to the pool by a woman and her two kids. Now, I have no idea where they came from...they were walking down the all from the main lobby area, when they fell in behind me. When I got to the pool, and took out my key, the woman said to one of the kids..'Scoot on up honey'. I went in, as the woman said..'Oh, could you hold that for us???' 'Sorry, you need a room key to get in' was my response. She was not happy. Was I rude?? Maybe. But, I used my room key to get in. She could use hers.

If you want to swim at AoA...stay there. Stay where you want to play.

:thumbsup2 Did they have their keys, or did they turn around and walked away until someone opened the gate (with the key)?

If you go by that notion, and AOA is just the second half of POP, then why aren't POP guests allowed to go there? Personally, I find your responses very condescending. If you close off one pool to a group of people, then there should be equal enforcement. I'm very glad you have found a resort that you love - so have I. I have no desire to go to your pool. You want your pool protected? Well I want mine protected too.

Kids are kids - they don't judge a pool by how "gorgeous" it is. They want new and different and of course would want to explore any pool possible. And there are parents that will follow desire of what their child wants and take them there. Is that something that they should have their head examined for? I don't think so. :confused3

Inquiring minds would love to know;) Please let there be more to this!!!:rolleyes1
