Poor Unfortunate Souls ~ A Spooktacular Trip Back to the World! UPDATE Reality Check

It was a great night and much preferred to the day of shopping :rotfl:

We haven't watched Fantasia or Beauty & The Beast yet, we just haven't had time or have been doing other things. She is dragging me to see Harry Potter this weekend (Ugh :headache:) so maybe we will watch one on Sunday perhaps.

Dragging you?!?! We bought our tickets 2 weeks ago! I am soooo psyched for this one. A little concerned that it was split into two movies but the trailers and commercials looks totally awesome. I hear it's a real tear-jerker...if you read the book, you'll know which part I mean. :sad1:

Hey this one looks good and you know you will like it too so :P

I was actually curious about the reception of these movies in England. Is it really a big deal there? BC it's huge here! I'm sure it's going to break all kinds of records. And there's always a few crazies who dress up for the midnight showing, or even the first official night. The Potter movies are honestly the biggest thing since.....Star Wars. It's like Star Wars for the new generation.

Hey, what do you guys think of the royal engagement? :rotfl2: It's all over the news and I"m like :confused3 why is this such a big deal?? Apparently, it is. Is everyone over there excited about it?

Sorry to say, but I hate Harry Potter and everything about it :) I guess I just don't get it or something. The movies are huge here as well and they have big events for it but I don't think anyone over here dresses up for any films. All I have read about the current movie is exactly what I thought, a way to build up to the final film / chapters and in my opinion, make a lot more cash by releasing it as 2 movies.

Royal family......noone I know is excited about it and I can say that I hate the royal family and everything about them and just don't see what the hell they are there for apart from bringing in tourists. Complete waste of space if you ask me but anywhooooo.....

Haha....but how do you REALLY feel?! :rolleyes1 yeah I don't really understand the monarchy at all. I mean, I get it...I just think it's all sort of stupid.

Totally agree that the movie studio split book 7 into 2 movies to double the profits!

Tell us how you REALLYL feel about the Royal Family. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I could never understand all the hoopla either, and that is going back to when Prince Charles came to Chicago prior to Diana...what's the big deal????

We aren't into Harry Potter either...don't understand the big deal about it (but then, ask Stefy, I don't understand the big deal about Stitch either...sorry, Dave...but I still luv you guys).

Stefy, I think the Crush coaster looks like loads of fun. :yay::yay::yay:

We're off to see HP today and I can't wait. Looks like it is going to be the best of all of them so far I'm thinking. Be interesting to see how much of the book is in there and what new little things they add as well. Although I have to confess I have only read Deathly Hallows once, so it will still be a bit new to me.

HP Fever is big over here, there are some of the crazies that dress up but like you say its more for opening night then in general.

The Royal engagement is huge news over here right now, I guess in a way its not so bad that the media are grasping on to some happy news for once, rather than the usual death and destruction in the world.

One thing that did make me smile was when I read how William gave Kate Diana's engagement ring and said that it was his way of making her a part of the wedding :lovestruc

Hey Kathy, looks like we got a Royal engagement/HP debate going on here

Crush's Coaster defo looks like fun, there's also another ride called Le Pays des Contes de Fées and is a small boat ride around miniature scenes that were inspired by the great works of literature and the Disney Classics.

Hey Guys

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. Have gotten back into the swing of wedding planning and am really enjoying myself with it :teeth:

So far we have sort of decided on flowers, colours and are going through potential designs for invitations. Next week we are going to look at suits for Dave and his grooms men. Exciting stuffs :teeth:

I will be getting a couple of updates up this weekend though, so don't fear, I won't let this thread die a horrible death before it's even begun!

On another note, do you guys think I should start a PJ in the wedding thread, or because I'm not getting married in Disney start a PTR instead and include the wedding planning in there along with the Disneymoon?

Anywho, best start getting ready, going to hit the Disney Store before heading into the cinema today. Haven't been since we got back can you believe it?

Enjoy your Saturday and I will catch up with you all later :goodvibes

Hi Stefy!

I think you should do a PJ.. I'm doing one over there & no one seems to mind I'm not having a disney wedding... but we are having Disneymoons! :cloud9:

Hope you have a lovely day! .. I've heard the Disney Stores are doing the Christmas plush toy charity event again... you donate £5 and a toy is given to a child in hospital/with a disability :thumbsup2 .. I'm hoping to do one soon!

Have fun at the movie!! We saw it last night. The theater was completely sold out of the 7:30 show. And there were a lot of people dressed up.

I only read Deathly Hallows once too! I think it actually helped because I didn't really know what was coming up next but when it did, I was like, "Oh this is the part where...." It was very dark and very moving but there were also a few good laughs. I'm going to have to see it again because we had these chatty girls behind us who felt the need to comment on every single moment.....

I might do, will have to see how it goes :) But thanks :)

Yesterday was a good day, Westfield was rammed (as usual) but we went to the Disney Store and got a few bits. The film was fantastic and I can't wait for next the second part in July :teeth: Do you like the HP films?

sounds like a good time yesterday! .. I've not been to Westfield yet.. looks great though! I used to live near Bluewater in Kent, that was a lovely shopping mall :goodvibes

I'm afraid I'm not a HP fan... I've never actually read any of the books or seen the movies though.. so I might like it! ... it happened when I was back at school, everyone was obsessed with the books as each one was published.. so I decided to go against the crowd and not read them  .. now I'm so far behind I don't know if I dare start reading/watching them?!
But I think the Wizarding World at IoA looks intriguing.. maybe as & when we go back to Universal, I'll watch some of the movies :thumbsup2

My advice would be to read the books and then watch the movies, only because going by Dave's perspective (who has never read the books himself) he doesn't get it like us readers do so...

Westfield is not a bad shopping centre to shop in. It quite easy to navigate and I love the parking system. All the parking spots have a light above them and if you are in the space it goes red and green for empty, plus when you are driving around looking for a space the illuminated signs overhead tell you how many spaces are available etc Pretty cool :teeth:

Day 4 - Sunday 3rd October
Today was a resort day and one we were both looking forward to as we hadn't explored the Poly as of yet. Before I start, let me say that resort days are awesome and I highly recommend them. We had such a great day relaxing by the pool, exploring the resort and just taking a chilled nice relaxed pace to the day.

We were looking forward to breakfast this morning as we were excited to dine with a certain someone :stitch:

A little annecdote here, Dave was saying as we were getting ready how he wished he had a Stitchy t shirt to wear to breakfast. Now one of his presents was just this and being all sympathetic and excited to give him a present early, thats just what I did. Thanks goes to Nikki for recommending Cassie who did a great job on the tee. I got him a tie dye tee with Stitch's head outlined on the front. You'll be able to see it better later on in the update :)

So off we went to Ohana, Lilo & Stitch Best Friend Breakfast. We checked in and were given our lei and took our picture with the PP Photographer. I will have to scan the photo in along with all the others at some point :)

WDWTrip2010485.jpg

Ours names were called and we were seated. Our server came by and chatted away explaining everything and took our drinks order. We were sitting there chatting away when another server came over with another family, apparently we had been seated at the wrong table. We were supposed to have been seated at the table right by the window. We didn't need telling twice and said we were happy to move and moved over to the table that we were supposed to have been at originally.

It was an awesome seat, right by the window and with a gorgeous view of the castle.

WDWTrip2010490.jpg

WDWTrip2010489.jpg

Out came our the fruit, bread and drinks. I went for Stitch's special juice and Dave the same, sooooo tasty and sweet.

The breads were AH-MAY-ZING!!! You had the usual cinnamon bun which was delish, but the pineapple bread was to die for and I couldn't get enough of it! Its a shame you can't get it anywhere but there, but I guess its all the more reason to go back right :teeth:

Next up came the skillet with the hot breakfast foods.
WDWTrip2010495.jpg

Not a bad little selection, average for breakfast food but it hit the spot just right.

Then who should stop by but Miss Lilo herself. She's so cute.
WDWTrip2010496.jpg

WDWTrip2010498.jpg

Our server also offered to take a picture of the two of us which was nice.
WDWTrip2010499.jpg

Next up was our little blue friend Stitch!
WDWTrip2010500.jpg

WDWTrip2010501.jpg

He was so cute and a little naughty this morning, he saw my little Stitch and picked him up, hugged him and then proceeded to try and dump him in the syrup jug  I had to tell him off a little and said no more coconut cake or coffee for you! He also noticed Dave's tee and gave it the thumbs up.

Next up was Mickey looking very cute in his Hawaiian shirt.
WDWTrip2010502.jpg

WDWTrip2010503.jpg

This is me trying to wipe the syrup off my little Stitchy's butt
WDWTrip2010504.jpg

Then it was Pluto's turn, he was quite cute and bouncy.
WDWTrip2010506.jpg

WDWTrip2010507.jpg

All in all a fun breakfast and one we will defo do again. The food isn't the greatest, but its good enough for what it is. Its that pineapple bread that I am sooooooo going back for :teeth: We finished up and then headed back to the room. What did we do next?

Cntd...

So we headed back to the room and changed into our swim gear as we were gonna hit the pool baby, the quiet pool that is, as the main pool just gets so busy and loud which was not what we were after today.

Look how nice and peaceful it looks.
f5b3805d.jpg

It was not that hot yet, but was getting there. We settled ourselves down in our chairs, before Dave jumped in the pool.

WDWTrip2010512.jpg

It took a bit of convincing for him to get me in the pool too (I can't swim and am quite weary around water, esp when there are other people there too). But it was fun, Dave pulled me around and swam with me on his back.

WDWTrip2010514.jpg

We then sat back down to bask in the sun and I took some pictures too.

WDWTrip2010516.jpg

WDWTrip2010518.jpg

WDWTrip2010519.jpg

Tried to take a pic of our room, but the branches were in the way. Ours was the third floor at the end.
WDWTrip2010520.jpg

WDWTrip2010521.jpg

Dave kept trying to get close to these guys, but they were too quick for him having the advantage of flight and all.
WDWTrip2010523.jpg

WDWTrip2010525.jpg

WDWTrip2010527.jpg

Pool craving satisfied we decided to start exploring the resort.

WDWTrip2010555.jpg

It really is a beautiful resort, with lush greenry, soft white sand and beautiful views. Another reason why we decided to stay here again next year :)

Cntd...

This part of the beach was nice and peaceful.

WDWTrip2010562.jpg

WDWTrip2010558.jpg

WDWTrip2010560.jpg

But the best part of it was this...

WDWTrip2010563.jpg

WDWTrip2010567.jpg

Laying on this and just swinging in the wind was so peaceful I could have fallen asleep. So going back to this spot next year on our resort day.

WDWTrip2010568.jpg

WDWTrip2010571.jpg

WDWTrip2010573.jpg

We wandered round to the main pool and stopped for a few cocktails.

Pina Colava

Rum Runner

Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea
ce6f5a77.jpg

All yummy yum except for the Iced Tea, wasn't a big fan of it as it had an odd after taste.

We then headed over to the Marina to explore the other side of the resort.

WDWTrip2010586.jpg

WDWTrip2010591.jpg

WDWTrip2010595.jpg

I also wanted to head this way to see where the walkway was for the Grand Floridian too. Not that bad of a walk, brings you up to the wedding pavilion and then a short walk to the main building.

WDWTrip2010596.jpg

WDWTrip2010598.jpg

WDWTrip2010605.jpg

WDWTrip2010608.jpg

It was starting to get really hot, so we started to head back to GCH to go and get a refill drink. We stopped to get a pic of this, as we just had too.

WDWTrip2010609.jpg

WDWTrip2010610.jpg

The nice DVC CM offered to take our picture.
WDWTrip2010611.jpg

We then got chatting about DVC and next year and nearly made an appointment to go to the home resort to get ideas of prices, which I did want to do on this trip as I wanted to get an idea to see if it was possible to do next year or the year after depending on life at that point. But we decided against it as we have too much going on right now it wouldn't be fair to taunt ourselves.

So back to the room we went for a little siesta before our ADR in Epcot. Where did we eat?

Cntd...

Looks like you had a good time during your resort day. I agree, the bread at Ohana is exactly the reason to have breakfast there!

looks like a lovely relaxing day so far!
Last July, I had some 'resort days' with DF's Mum & sisters while the boys played golf.. really enjoyed it! That was at the Yacht Club though... Poly looks beautiful, I'm even more excited to see it next month when we have dinner at Kona cafe! :cloud9:

Emma princess: x

ps Dave's tshirt looks great! was that from Etsy?

Sounds like a wonderfully relaxing resort day! Dave's shirt came out soooo good! Did he love it?

Ours was overly packed, but there was a pretty big crowd. I loved the movie, the opening scenes were very poignant, esp Hermione's scenes. Felt so sad for her :(

The action scenes were brilliant too, by far I think this is the best of all the films and I can't wait to see the second part in July. What did you think of where they ended it? Good choice, or should it have ended before?

I now feel like reading all the books again now though :teeth:

We just got back from our second viewing of Deathly Hallows! The first time, we had chatter sitting behind us. This time we sat in the last row, right in the middle! Great spot except a girl sitting a few seats away from Tom decided to have her phone out for most of the movie (which might as well be a flashlight in a dark theater) and some guy had his crying kid, which at one point, he got into a little verbal exchange with someone who must have asked him to leave and security had to come and escort the family out....other than that, the second viewing was even better!!

There were many scenes that were very moving. I agree with the three of them in teh very beginning...knowing what is going to come. I thought it ended at a good spot. I thought that was a great decision. Can't wait to see how it did at the box office!

Great update! Your resort pictures are beautiful! :goodvibes I especially love the one of you and Dave in the hammock together!

What a fabulous day so far! I loved Ohana breakfast too. We went to Kona this past trip, and I wish we would have just gone back to Ohana (though we weren't on the dining plan so it would have cost more.) FYI The bread at Olivia's at Old Key West is very similar if not the same as the Ohana pineapple bread. And they serve it at dinner (probably at lunch too, but we didn't eat lunch there.)

You actually saw it twice? WOW :scared1:

I was alright at the beginning and then it hit the middle where nothing happened until the last 10minutes and I was so damn bored. I have never watched a bigger pile of turd in my life, I cant believe people are raving about it and it's breaking box office records. People are so dillusional nowadays ;)

Anyway lol....Yes the day was very good, breakfast was great and i love my tshirt (though its a bit big for me lol). We learned during this trip that taking the time to enjoy your resort is an absolute must. Even coming back during the afternoon for a couple of hours to recharge the batteries really works wonders. Still there is dinner coming up which was AWESOME! Can't wait to go back to this restaurant :cool1:
