Poor Unfortunate Souls ~ A Spooktacular Trip Back to the World! UPDATE Reality Check

Looks like you had a good time during your resort day. I agree, the bread at Ohana is exactly the reason to have breakfast there!

Thanks :) The bread was so good, not normally a fan of pineapple in food but this was perfect :teeth:

looks like a lovely relaxing day so far!
Last July, I had some 'resort days' with DF's Mum & sisters while the boys played golf.. really enjoyed it! That was at the Yacht Club though... Poly looks beautiful, I'm even more excited to see it next month when we have dinner at Kona cafe! :cloud9:

Emma princess: x

ps Dave's tshirt looks great! was that from Etsy?

Thanks :) Was nice to just relax and enjoy the resort. The Poly is just so beautiful you will love it :)

Yes the tee was from Etsy :)

Sounds like a wonderfully relaxing resort day! Dave's shirt came out soooo good! Did he love it?

We just got back from our second viewing of Deathly Hallows! The first time, we had chatter sitting behind us. This time we sat in the last row, right in the middle! Great spot except a girl sitting a few seats away from Tom decided to have her phone out for most of the movie (which might as well be a flashlight in a dark theater) and some guy had his crying kid, which at one point, he got into a little verbal exchange with someone who must have asked him to leave and security had to come and escort the family out....other than that, the second viewing was even better!!

There were many scenes that were very moving. I agree with the three of them in teh very beginning...knowing what is going to come. I thought it ended at a good spot. I thought that was a great decision. Can't wait to see how it did at the box office!

Thanks :) It came out really well, thanks again for recommending Cassie :)

Yikes, drama in the cinema so not what you want. I don't understand people these days, they are just so not aware of anyone else but themselves :( But glad you enjoyed your second viewing either way :)

I feel like going to see it again, but don't think Dave would sit through it again

It did really well over here on opening, but then all of them did so no surprise really.

Great update! Your resort pictures are beautiful! :goodvibes I especially love the one of you and Dave in the hammock together!

Thank you :) The hammock is the best to relax on esp when its quiet and with a nice breeze to rock you :)

What a fabulous day so far! I loved Ohana breakfast too. We went to Kona this past trip, and I wish we would have just gone back to Ohana (though we weren't on the dining plan so it would have cost more.) FYI The bread at Olivia's at Old Key West is very similar if not the same as the Ohana pineapple bread. And they serve it at dinner (probably at lunch too, but we didn't eat lunch there.)

Thank you :) Oooh interesting, might have to look at Olivia's for next year, mind you though we are on a tight restaurant schedule as we won't be in the world for as long as we usually are.

Gonna show DBF your resort day tonight, it looks so peaceful and relaxing!

I'm almost scared to say I saw deathly hallows last night :happytv: and loved it! I think you need to love the books and all the detail to really want to see it multiple times? I'll go with you stefy!!!:wizard:

Fine by me, get her out the house so I can be a slob and play on the Playstation! ;)

The resort part of the day was really nice and relaxing. I love the Poly and honestly don't want to stay anywhere else again. The day still isn't over though, we have an awesome dinner and a nightmare evening at DHS still to come.

It was a nice relaxing day that day :) Did you get any in on your trip this year?

Don't worry about Dave and his distaste of all things HP, I don't listen

I wouldn't mind seeing it again, next time you are in London maybe we can have a mini meet and go see it :)

Thanks  Feel the love there!

I will get an update out tonight, promise :)

Stefy, what a GREAT update. We do love the Poly and there are times I miss not staying there anymore (but with a mortgage, college tuition for one son, etc., we are quite happy at our moderate, but I hope some day to go back to the Poly). Your pictures on your "exploration of the resort" are simply stunning and bring it all back. We spent many days at that quiet pool and had it all to ourselves.

I'm glad you enjoyed your breakfast with the "blue" guy. We've not eaten there since it was Minnie's breakfast and it was a buffet (I prefer buffets over family style so I can eat what I like as I don't like eggs).

I love Dave's shirt...too cute; and I hope you got the syrup off the butt of your little friend.

So we left off with where were we going for dinner. We took the Tronorail over to Epcot.

WDWTrip2010614.jpg

This was the first time we were setting foot in Epcot this trip. Love this park, WS more than FW mind, but still a great park :) We took a few pics in front of the F&W sign.

WDWTrip2010619.jpg

Finally in WS we turned right towards our little part of the world to have dinner at...

WDWTrip2010621.jpg

We checked in and waited outside and took some pictures. Didn't get to take that many as our names were called pretty quickly and we were seated.

WDWTrip2010630.jpg

Our server was Chelsea who was really nice and went through everything on the menu, recommending her favourites. She also brought out these, which were delish.

WDWTrip2010631.jpg

For our appetiser we went for the Appetizer Trio Share

WDWTrip2010632.jpg

We had the Tomato Stack, Lump Crab and the Chedder Cheese Soup. I didn't try the stack as am not a fan of tomatoes. The crab was a bit too lime tasting for me, the cheese however was yumma and went so well with the pretzel bread.

Next up we have our mains. Dave went for the Le Cellier Fillet Mignon.

WDWTrip2010637.jpg

I went for the same, but sans mushroom substituted for mash potato.

WDWTrip2010638.jpg

I'll let Dave tell you about his. Mine was delish, the fillet was cooked to perfection, lovely and tender and the mash as creamy as ever. Will defo be eating here again.

For dessert we both decided to share...

WDWTrip2010639.jpg

The Chocolate "Mousse" Was very tasty and I love the presentation, so cute.

All in all a great meal and will be going back for sure next year. Just need to decide whether it will be for lunch or dinner now that they are making it a Signature Restaurant.

After LC we made our way to International Gateway to catch a boat to DHS for PM EMH and Fantasmic. The boat ride was soooooooooo slow and packed, did not enjoy that ride at all, made even more so when everyone decided to get off at DHS. We were going to walk around maybe catch a few rides before lining up for the show, but it was so horribly busy that we decided that as much as we wanted to see Fantasmic, we really didn't want to have to deal with the crowds. So we promptly left and returned to the Poly.

Next up our first full day in Epcot

I am DROOLING over my favorite meal at Disney and you ordered everything I love -- the Cheddar Cheese Soup, the filet with the potatos (I don't do mushrooms); I only have a different dessert--I get the Chocolate on Chocolate Moose cake.

I'm sorry the boat ride and DHS were so crowded and you didn't get to go with what you planned on doing. I hope you were able to catch the show later during your trip.

We were in two minds about the mousse or the creme brulee, but went for the mousse because it was our first time at LC and you couldn't not get it really could you :teeth:

The evening wasn't the greatest, but at least we had a great dinner :)

I should start proofing before I hit send.

I meant I always get the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake (not moose). But Mark usually gets the moose and he enjoys it...it is cute.

Woo Hoo the Photopass Pics turned up today. Just went through them with Dave and we took loads, in total inc borders we have two discs of 596 photos :teeth:

PP is so worth and we will defo do it again next year. We got some fantastic photos and the best thing about them is that we are both in them together. I don't care what people say Photopass is a Must Do at WDW. My only gripe would be that there aren't enough photographers to go around and Disney needs to either let them loose or encourage them to be a bit more outside the box.

Thought I would share our pics up to Day 4 with you and add as and when for the other days :)

These are from Day 1 in MK

AWESOME photopass pictures, Stefy. And I agree--it is a MUST DO at Disney.

Thank you and there's still loads more to come  We also love the portrait sessions at the resorts too, have you done one before? We did one at the Poly in 2008 and will most likely do another next year for the honeymoon :teeth:

Glad Le Cellier was good for you. My DD saw the chocolate mousse and was upset that she got the S'mores the last time we were there! She said, "I didn't know the Mousse was an actual moose!" And I'm with you about those boats between DHS and Epcot. Too crowded, loud and hot. We rode them more than I liked when we stayed at the Beach Club. Love the photopass pictures! I don't have to tell you that I also think PP is a must do for every trip. Heck I bought the CD even when we were only there for 3 days!

Thanks :) Bless DD bet she defo be getting that next time :)

It was crazy on the boats and some people didn't even fold their strollers away!

We should start a PP appreciation thread and spread the love

Love the PP pics :thumbsup2

Thanks :)

BEST.MEAL.EVER. - I am not a mushroom fan, in fact I hate them unless they are fried on an Hibachi table like at Tepan Edo. I was going to get the mash but thought nah lets just try it the way it was supposed to be eaten and I am glad I did. I have read all the hype about Le Cellier and is it worth it etc etc and I can say it certainly is. I have never had a meal like that before, everything was bursting with flavour and as soon as I was finished I wanted more!

I dont care what I have to do next year, but we are 100% going to be eating here. Even if it is 2 TS it is so worth it.

I love photopass too, though I seem to only pull the one expression really :goodvibes

Oh Stefy! Your Photopass pics are amazing!! I totally agree with you....a Must Do! I didn't use Photopass really at all until our honeymoon last summer and now we will get it the cd every time! So worth it!

Ugh, that Tronorail! When are they going to change that back? I guess not anytime soon since the movie is just about to come out. Who is going to see that movie, anyway?? Not me!

And we had the exact same experience on the boat from WS to DHS! Too long! Not fun at all.
