Every year Santa Claus comes by on a Firetruck and his friends hand out Candy Canes and walk next to the truck.

It's GREAT to see everyone come out no matter what the weather is in order to say Hello to Santa

Well... Sunday, Santa was making his rounds when the sirens went off.. Poor Santa was told hold on tight, they dropped him off at the Fire House and left him there while the Fire Fighters went to the call

:santa: Ho Ho Ho :santa: Tis The Season

I never did get my candy cane :rolleyes1

OMG!!!! That's something that doesn't happen everyday! At least they told Santa to hold on! :thumbsup2

:lmao: Poor Santa. They do that out here, too. I haven't seen anything tellins us the route/date/times yet though. Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to see if I can find out. We're not in a neighborhood and can't see the road, so we have to know ahead of time to walk down to the road.

We live in a small town, less then 1,000 year round residents
One way in and One way out
Can't go through our town to get to another

I love this town

:goodvibes

I see that you have "Jerey Shore" listed..growing up on the NJ shore, I am curious..where are you?

Oh, I meant to say this earlier; where we used to live when my oldest was little (another rural area) Santa came on his tractor. He had a cute little elf helper (whichever girlie he was dating or trying to date that year) and a cooler full of popsicles that he handed out. He was our next door neighbor and a good friend of my ex-FIL, so my daughter was never fooled. She knew exactly who he was.

He did traumatise the living daylights out of her as the Easter Bunny, though, one year. She had been scared by another guy in an Easter Bunny costume earlier in the day, and then the neighbor came over in his Easter Bunny suit and she freaked out. HE FOLLOWED HER! :scared1: Then he made the mistake of trying to calm her down by taking the stuffed head off so she could see it was just him and she lost it completely when the rabbit started to pull its own head off. :rotfl2: I had to take her from the room quickly, she was hyperventilating, poor kid. Sorry....OT. :rolleyes1

We do that too and I know last year, people complained about it. Said there HAD to be a better use of the fire dept's time.

That's happened to us a few times over the years. My father was a fireman and we would go to the firehouse parties every year. A couple of times the truck had to drop santa off or leave b/c of calls. My brothers are now firefighters and we go to their firehouse parties with our children and it's only happened once between their two houses, so far. We'll see how this Sunday's party goes. :)

Nice place to visit..

Living there....as a kid...not so much.

I was saying "Poor Santa.."earlier today when DH and I went Christmas shopping at the mall while DS was in school. Santa had a boy and girl on his lap and the little girl (who looked to be 4 or so) was screaming bloody murder. Santa had the nicest smile on his face and her brother was kind of looking at her like, "You have GOT to be kidding me!".:rotfl:

Awww poor Santa :santa:
Won't be the last and I'm sure is not the first

Why people still let their child screaming their head off for a picture, they will not buy in the end, is beyond me

If it had been DS doing that, I think I would've bought the picture because I felt bad that he screamed and made such a fuss.
