Just read a couple of threads and saw some cute kids enjoying the BLT pool - and I wondered - as we are going next week and temps seem to be in the cool range...

What did you think of the pool temp (esp compared to the outside air temp)?

Has anyone stayed at SAB this week? Not sure if dd will attempt the pool if the air temp is cool...

just call me curious!

TIA

All WDW Resort pools are heated.

I've not been in the winter months but I remember the GREAT Debate when Disney decided to change the water temp - and some DVC members were bringing their home pool thermometers to measure the temps - because they felt it was cold -

I suddenly had a flashback of that debate.... and was curious - so while I realize "all Disney pools are heated"

I was curious to what temp are they actually heated to?

..they used to say all pools were heated to 80 degrees year round. Not sure if that has changed.

I was at VWL and went swimming twice in December. I was the only one in the villa pool either time, but the second time, the water just seemed to be chillier, but after a few minutes it was fine for me and I enjoyed a nice 1/2 hour or so in the water. Another guest put her toe in, went to get a pool person, who came, took the temp of the pool, went back and forth a bit with the guest and finally left. I don't know if the water temperature was ever adjusted, but on the two days, the water did seem to be two different temperatures. The air itself was cooler that second day.

The last two times we visited in colder months (Dec 2008, Jan 2008) we found the pool temps at VWL and OKW to be around 82-84 degrees. (Ever since "pool gate" we keep a pool thermometer in our Owners Locker!) It was very pleasant for swimming though we don't even consider doing it unless the air temperature is at least 75 degrees or so. Larger pools don't seem to hold the heat as well (or maybe aren't heated to the same degree?) so the feature pool at OKW was a bit cooler than the neighborhood pools but it was still warm enough to enjoy. The pool near building 55 was like bath water -- very nice!

We always go in January and have used the pools at BWV and SSR, They feel much warmer when it is cold out but I have never foulnd them to be cold or even uncomfortable. Sometimes the trek back to the room at SSR can be a little chilly (actually Freezing) but it's vacation and Florida so I'm going swimming.Thought the hot tubs could be a little hotter though.
