Pool Slide at HHI

I think anyone who wants to can go down it. Sometimes younger ones are frightened to go down it because it is enclosed, and they do not like the dark.

The slide is not really tall or long. It might start at around 12-16 feet high. It is only one "loop"down and not that steep. It can be fast. To a small child I think it could be scary at first, but most seem to like it after braving it. If they are small yoy may need 2 adults to help. One to go up to the top and one to be at the bottom. The impact is forceful and will push you to the middle of the splash down area that is roped off. You can wait by the ladder. They do not let you come down in pairs to hold a child.

Just a quick word about the slide. We were there last August and my 5yo son slipped at the top and we could hear him tumble down the entire slide! The lifeguard blew his whistle and went him after him as a precaution since it made such a thunderous noise. Luckily, he just had a bump on his head. But just a cautionary note to maybe help the smaller kids at the top---the water really jets out fast up there. I don't remember there being a height restriction--lots of small kids in life jackets used it.

I am at HHI now. I have two four year olds (twins) who love going down this slide. They wear flotation devices since they cannot yet swim. Either my wife or I stay in the pool to help them out after they come down. There is no height requirement.
