Haven't seen this asked lately, so here it goes......
Has anybody heard any noise about the Meadows Pool being updated or updating the old River Country pool? There was a lot of conversations about this previously, but haven't seen anything lately.

I seriously doubt anything will ever happen with the River Country pool, unfortunately that place appears to be dead to Disney.

As for the Meadows pool, there have been rumours, although there was also a rumour earlier this summer that it would be refurbished "in a few months", but we have yet to hear anything about anything upcoming.

These kind of rumours float around from time to time, the Meadows trading post seems to be the most constant one. As of right now, there really is nothing substantiated.

No refurbs for Meadow Pool for the rest of 2007 per a CM this past weekend (8/17-8/19).

River Country is another story. I've heard some controversy about R.C. because it was the first Water Park in the USA. Rumor has it a historical conservancy is encouraging Disney to list it on the US Historical Registry. I don't know if that can be done without opening it for tours. :confused3

I loved R.C., because it was right there at the Fort & we could ride our cart over & it wasnt' out of the way. Another rumor as to why they closed it was due to unsafe bacteria in Bay Lake. Who knows??? I do know that I miss it!:sad1:

This would be cool if part of the preservation was to actually be able to visit RC(and since we are all there visiting, and have our swimsuits on, let's just jump in.....).

I missed out on the whole RC experience (first time at FW was 2004). I looked at the pictures from it's hey-day. Looked marginally unsafe in parts (what with the jump off points etc), and thus extremely attractive to me.

Regarding the Meadows pool, some theming would be nice (even just adding a slide-flume style). Not holding my breath though.

actually, the construction you see next to the contemporary, is the mega filter for bay lake. They plan on chlorinating it, and opening up river country again.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

This explains everything! The whole new DVC resort thing at CR is just a rumor covering the RC gambit. This is insidious in it's deviousness. Throw in a coupla black helicopters and we have a right proper "conspiracy theory" here.

Better grab my swim trunks now and start making my way to the front of the line. I figure if I get there reaaaaal early, there will be noone in front of me (that's right Mr. Man gots the big brain on this one......)

Will keep this on the down low for now. ;) Mum's the word. The eagle has left the nest. Saturn is in ascendant phase. Confidence is high. I repeat....

All I want is to be able to swing down the rope slide they used to have at River Country. Give me that and I'll be happy....lol ;)
