Do I have to be staying at a DVC resort in order to pool hop or as long I as I'm a DVC member it does not matter which Disney resort I am staying at?

From the DVC Member Website:

When staying on your Membership at any Disney Vacation Club Resort at Walt Disney World Resort or at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, you and any Guests staying with you are permitted to take advantage of complimentary alternative pool use, which provides access to:

  • The pool or pools at the Disney Vacation Club Resort where you are staying
  • Select pools at Disney Vacation Club Resorts
  • Select pools at Walt Disney World Resort hotels
Note: Capacity limits and blockout dates apply. To find out about pool-access availability, please check with a host or hostess at the front desk of the Resort you wish to visit.

You must present your MagicBand or valid Disney Vacation Club Membership Card to use the other Resort hotel pools.

Do we think that “on your membership” includes a cash reservation booked through MS? Last minute, we added a night onto the end our upcoming stay this way at OKW and were planning on checking out the French quarter pool on our departure morning with our kids, but now that our last night isn’t on points (but still listed on our DVC dashboard) are we still allowed? We’ve never had a cash through MS reservation.

I would guess Yes, simply because you would not have been able to book cash through DVC MS without being a club member.

Thanks. I’ll ask at OKW before we try it. Or I’ll ask MS when I call tomorrow to rearrange my father in law’s magical express. We were either going to take our kids to French Quarter or SSR on our way out of town. I’m pretty sure the French quarter kids’ pool has a magic band entry thing. If pool hopping is still okay, I imagine our MBs will open the gate for us?

I have no idea, I've never pool hopped. I will say, if you stay at the main pool at OKW, there are showers in the rest rooms by the Community HAll, if that is important for you so you aren't traveling in wet clothes.

I’ve never pool hopped either! Ha. My youngest is 2, so we thought somewhere with one of those splash pad things might be fun for her. We do love the pool at OKW, so we might just stay there anyway. We’re only going as far as Sarasota after we depart so at least no one will be traveling wet for very long.

The pools I have seen recently don't open with MBs. But they do lock with keys so they can be locked at night when the pool is closed.
