pool hopping

i know you have to show your member card and KTTW card, but if i got onto the bus, went from AKL to SS, and just walked out to the pool, how would they know? where do you show your card? do the disney police come and take you or is there a special pool hopping shuttle?

At certain pools, or if it gets crowded enough the lifeguards will ask to see your KTTW to verify you "belong" there. Normally they would probably never ask but technically we are supposed to call the front desk to make sure they are allowing pool hopping that day (I believe).

I know BLT you have to use your room key to access the gate. Wouldn't be surprised if they did this at Kidani since you do go through a gate. Didn't have to in December. I don't think that will happen at Jambo though.

There is no pool hopping shuttle, you would have to find your own way. The only time they provide a shuttle is if a resort's pool is closed. For example, if Boardwalk's main pool is closed they have a golf cart shuttle over to Yacht Club.

From what I've noticed, the most restrictive ones (use the card to get INTO the pool) are the ones restricted for hopping.

During our Sept vacation at OKW, we hopped in our cars one day and went over to Coronado Springs. (if we didn't have cars we would have made our way over using the bus system) Showed our OKW parking passes to get through the gates, got our stuff, walked to the pool, made use of the pool.

We didn't happen to get "carded", but we certainly could have been. I imagine the lifeguards would have come over and asked where we were staying, and we would have shown our keycards and DH's DVC member card.
