Pool hopping over Xmas?

I thought I read somewhere that Loews/Universal allows pool hopping between their resorts. Is this true? Is it suspended during crowded holiday periods?

We've chosen to stay at RPH and it doesn't seem to have a slide. Just wondering if we can visit another pool that has one.

Thanks!

Absolutely. Head on over to either HRH or PBH, or better yet both and enjoy! You can charge drinks/meals back to your RPR card (if you authorized charging privileges on it.) If you want more luxury, rent a cabana for the day at one of the other resorts. It gives you a "home" spot to hang out in when you are not at your regular resort.

Enjoy!

Oooh! Never thought about that with the cabana. How much do they cost to rent? I don't believe I came across that info when poring over all of it to choose a hotel.

Thanks for the reply! Enjoy your Thanksgiving at Universal. We were there 2years ago early Thanksgiving week and had a wonderful time.

if you are staying at club level at hrh, you get a discount if you rent the cabana.

i did this 2 years ago with a friend.
if i remember correctly, i think the cost with the discount was $100 per day.

you can check on the site to see if prices have increased.

yes, pool hop all you want at any time you stay at the on site hotels at universal. it is encouraged !

holiday time is no exception, you can take advantage of this perk all the time.

We have cabana #7 @ HRH reserved during the Thanksgiving week for 2 days. The cost is $150.00 per day. I believe the cabanas that are not on the beach side were cheaper.

I have no idea how much the cabanas at PBH or RPR are.

goofy, if you are staying club, you can get a discount on the cabana.

does the price you listed reflect that?

We are actually staying at the Portofino, so unfortunately, no discounts. Boo Hoo

Thanks for the info! Since we're going over the holiday season and paying a lot over what we'd normally pay for air and room, the price for a day might be kinda steep. OTOH, DH liked the cabanas he saw in a promotional video...so, who knows? :confused3

Are there any special percs that come with a cabana? Food? Drinks?

I can tell you about the perks at the HRH cabanas. I am assuming that they are similar at the two other resorts.

For a standard cabana - you get a plate of fruit, 6 soft drinks and some waters (forgot how many).

For the themed cabanas (#7 yellow submarine and #10 Stevie Wonder) - you get double the sodas and water and you get some pool floats to use in the pool.

In the cabanas are a ceiling fan, a tv and a phone. There is also a table and chairs and reserved lounge chairs.

The service we have had there has been excellent. Our waiter checked on us frequently.

We love the cabanas at the Hard Rock because it is a wonderful pool to hang out at, then we can change in the cabana, walk over to the parks to do a few rides, come back and eat and swim some more. Last vacation of 11 days, my kids thought the cabana day was the best day of the vacation.

Thanks, Goofy!. I don't know if I would do HRH. Maybe I'll check into it for RPH.

Enjoy your upcoming trip!
