It has been a while since we stayed on property, we are heading down in a couple of weeks staying at AS Sports, kids like the baseball pool but want to go over to the Beach club pool with the waterslide on one of our down days... can you use the pools at the other resorts?

No, resort pools are for the guest of that resort only. They are especially strict about this at the Yacht and Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge pools. They will check ID cards. Even vacation club members, who are allowed to pool hop, are not allowed to use Y&B or AKL pools during their stay.

No, sorry you can't. You can use the other All Star pools though. The pool at the Beach Club is for their guests and they require resort ID for a wristband for use of the pool.

Enjoy your stay and you might want to consider a water park.

It's 56 degrees today. You might not even want to swim.

As Sammie pointed out, you are welcome to pool hop to all six of the All Star pools as a guest of any All Star resort. Pool hopping to other pools at WDW resorts isn't allowed.

You could always change your reservation to the Beach or Yacht Club.

Have you gone to the waterparks before? My kids LOVE blizzard beach. They are 4 and 6 and we have to spend 2 days there. We do some running around and then we float down the lazy river to relax. We went last year when it was 64 degrees out. I hear that typhoon lagoon is great too. Just an idea for you.

Are you enjoying a good laugh? Previously you said you were going to use your brother's annual pass. Don't forget to bring up refillable mugs and hogging beach chairs!

I agree with Deb and Bill. If you want to use the pool at the BC, then change your reservation. I want to enjoy the pool at the BC and that is why I am paying top dollar to stay there, along with all the other BC guests.

Pool hopping is a definite "no" and generally frowned upon on these boards.

If pool hopping was allowed, the cooler resort pools would be overly crowded, which would be unfair for the guest paying to use those pools.

Not that anyone flamed the OP, but it is understandable why some people would think that pool hopping is ok. Back in the day (back when there were much fewer resort opions), you could pool hop at the different resorts. Disney Vacation Club guests are still allowed to use different resort pools and I have heard of CMs mistakenly advising guests that pool hopping is ok. Also, I pointed out in another thread, there is a new guidebook out there (I can't remember the name) that not only says that the pool hopping is allowed, but encourages it, pointing out that you can enjoy the better pools without paying the higher resort rates. So it can be pretty confusing for new or returning guests.

Funny thing is, that I did pull off using the annual pass...worked like a champ

Everytime I have stayed off property I have parked at the Boardwalk for free and used Disney transportation to get around, does that make you sad too? why don't you look up my other posts because I'm looking for wifi hotspots and of course I don't want to pay for it. But don't worry I don't bring refill mugs with me and you don't have to worry about chair hogging when I stop by your "top dollar" pool since I never get out of the pool, not even to go to the bathroom

this thread is :rotfl2:
how did you use someone lese ap dont they have names on them?
or the finger thing?
not to be a loser but dont you feel bad using someones else pass?

It's too bad that some people have such a pathetic little life that they have nothing better to do than to troll message baords looking to start trouble. it's too bad that instead they dont find some volunteer work to do in the spare time they seem to have on their hands.

Oh my....shouldn't take long for this one to shut down!!!

Kelly, That was back in 03, I believe I turned down the chance to bring his photo ID along but my wife may or may not have used my sister in laws with this trick ... If the pass lets you in you don't have to worry about ID but if you tried the finger scan and it didn't work the gate CM asks for ID and you say "I Didn't bring my ID in, my husband brought his wallet and I don't bring my purse to the parks" I know that has worked in the past, not sure what the entry procedures are now. But that whole ticket thing is really off topic of what I asked. Did I feel bad about using someone elses annual pass? Of course not and I'd use one again if they were available to me but they are not so we'll just have to get in the old fashion way......jump the fence!

This thread is funny though, I asked a simple question because as you can tell by the responses that there is some uncertainty out there on pool hopping.

One of the Jiminy-crickets as I like to call them went and read old posts of mine for some reason before responding, as if an old post has anything to do with a yes or no that you can use any disney resort pool if you are staying on Disney. I think it is great, I do enjoy a challenge so now I may just have to try to use the Y&B pool to prove it can be done and to get the heart rate up and blood boiling of the holier than though posters

I must admit, this is quite a funny comment. I do agree- some people on these boards do get a little too "touchy" on these subjects. "Stepford Vacationers".
HOWEVER- I do get upset when I realize that people from other resorts are crowding our resort's pool. When I am paying near $400 a night to stay at the GF and I'm being jumped into by a group of obnoxious teens that are saying- "we should go back and swim at the piano pool at our resort before we go back to EPCOT tonight" (i.e. they're paying $79 a night to stay at ASMu)- it really makes me mad. If I am paying $130 to stay at POFQ- out of respect for others, I will, and do, swim at my own pool. I really wish that all pools were patrolled more closely.

Anne you are correct, I was pleased at the quick response that I got on the pool policy, within minutes I knew that it was not allowed and I was very thankful for those responders, this board has a wealth of information and you can get information from a ton of people on just about anything you need information for.

I agree, I can't believe that troubled was started by a fellow board member that wanted to try and ridicule me and encouraged another board member to post a number of "laughing icons" I totally agree with you that that was uncalled for and I'm glad you agree with me. Thanks again to the posters that stepped up and answered my original question.

Penny do you want to sneak into the AAA lounge at the Magic KIngdom with me....There's free Soda Pop!!!!!!!

Also its fun to use the Kids meals on your Disney Dining plan as Adult meals and pay for the kids out of pocket!!!!!!

I'm glad you got the answers to your question, but based on your subsequent responses, it looked like you already knew, so I'm not sure why you bothered to post to begin with.

Nothing for nothing, but you seem to be doing a good job of trying to stir the pot yourself.

I hope the mods lock this thread, as it's run it's course and is just begining to become a waste of bandwidth.

Seriously??? I'm not sure what the AAA lounge is but I'm going to look that up, me and my dad have the same name and he belongs to AAA so if that is what the AAA means I'm up for some free soda pop. I usually don't worry about food when I'm down there because I eat a big lunch for free, but I must say that by the end of the week I get pretty sick of eating pickles, saurkraught and a salad of lettuce for free off the toppings bar at Gepetto's place. But If I could chase that down with free soda pop instead of water I might do better for longer. Thanks for the tips, you should post those on the disney on a budget board.
