Has anyone driven to another resort (like the Poly) to pool hop, only to be given a 3-hour permit? What happens if you want to stay around longer (as we probably would)??

I read in another forum that if you valet park at the Poly, you can stay as long as you like. I suppose you'd have to tell the guard that you want to valet, right?

No need, actually. Just don't display the permit he gives you. Instead you'll get the valet hangtag.

So--there will be a time limit on pool hopping unless I pay $6.00 (plus tip) to valet park??

No time limit on pool hopping, just on parking. There are other ways to get there. ;)

Ah-apples and oranges!!
Having rented a car, wouldn't be too smart to not use it. Especially considering how hard it is to get from "resort to resort" via WDW transportation.
The valet parking seems like a pool hopping "surcharge"--

Then don't use the valet, it's certainly your choice!!

You could drive to the MK parking lot and take the monorail to GF, thus saving the valet cost. There are lots of options to save those big bucks! ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about staying over the 3 hour limit when pool hopping. We have gotten several of the 3 hour passes at the Poly. I have not heard of anyone actually having their vehicle towed from the lot. If you are that concerned about it, just park at the MK lot and walk to the Poly. I doubt many legitimate PHrs will exceed the 3 hour limit. The biggest issue is if the resort is packed and you are keeping a legitimate resort guest from having a parking space while you are dining or pool hopping. That is Disney's problem as long as you are following their guidelines.
