We are planning our trip back to Disney after a 5 yr break and a couple more kids :scared1: for June 2011. I rented a pool home last time we went to Florida (which I loved) but felt like I rushed into it and didn’t shop around (through Expedia) and was wondering who do you rent from and any tips you might give.

We like www.orlandovillas.com and they have a forum, so you can ask any questions on your mind. Decide if you want a pvt pool - without neighbors to your right and left. Do you want a game room or a gated community and a community pool as well as a pvt. pool. We rent in a non gated community and love our villa. I believe most homes are fully alarmed. You can look at many villas on ov.com. Hope this helps.

I always use VRBO - and rent directly from the owners. Done this 3 times so far with no problems!!

Good Luck - there are so many choice out there it's hard to decide!!

I second VRBO.

Check out the Windsor Hills homes. We have stayed here and LOVED it.

Small pool right in the backyard (screened in) and a HUGE pool at the clubhouse with a slide for the kiddos.

I agree vrbo is a great site, there's another site homeaway.com. I have never used it. Orlando villas, you deal directly with the owner. WH, always gets good reviews. I have even heard good things about Craig's list. You have your work cut out for you, but it's fun/

We went in June and used Alexander homes. This was our second experience with them and it was fantastic. Both times we used them the homes were perfect. I had a friend who used them about a year ago and when she arrived their Fridge wasn't working. In less than 2 hours Alexander homes had them moved to another house (even nicer than the orginal) within the same community. She was very impressed with their customer service. Good luck with your search and enjoy your trip! :)

Thanks all... I do have my work cut out but I also have 11 months to do it in:), I love the idea of selecting the exact house that you are staying in. Some beds just look more comfortable than others and I love the idea of viewing the pool area ahead of time. It is a must that we have fenced backyard and a gated pool. The gated pool for our small ones and the fenced backyard for our neighbors. The last time we rented a house we had some neighbors move in on our last day there, who were very rowdy and made us not enjoy our pool on the last day:mad:. I have not felt confident renting from the owner directly in the past, but maybe that is something I will look into this time around.

I also used VRBO on my last trip and was very pleased with the results. We had a nice sized pool and the house was in a quiet neighborhood. There was also a propane grill outside by the pool. It was nice to get home after a day at the parks and relax by the pool while the steaks sizzled just a few feet away :goodvibes
