Pool Hoggers

I have a side question regarding a "pool hogger" Our secretary is renting a house and she mentioned to me that they were going to sneak in to use the pool at the Boardwalk! She's stayed there before for a conference so she's familiar with the resort and I don't remember any key request. Will she be allowed in?

When I was there from the 9th-16th they were asking for room keys and then they gave you a bracelet. So it might not work.

The pools are for guests of the hotel/DVC only. If the lifeguards are checking IDs she'll have a problem and will be asked to leave. Your guess is as good as mine as to the chances of them checking IDs. I wouldn't do it. If she wants a pool she should rent a house that comes with access to one, or spring for a day at a water park.

Unfortunately, she'll probably get away with it. But Disney resort pools are for guests of that resort.

thanks arthur! this next trip is our reward!!! (although hubby is worried about the long drive down from Illinois without smokes:scared1:)

as to disney transportation, it is available to ALL WDW Resort guests, not resorts.. anyone visiting the whole 48 odd sq. miles known as WDW can use the transportation.

Congrats!:cheer2:

Gum worked for me, I took my cravings out on it.

The funny thing I found out about chair hoggers is that they got mein trouble.

My story - My daughter was little - about 4. We were at AKL by the zero entry area. There were no chairs available. I did not have my suit on because we just gotten there and my daughter wanted to swim (I packed her suit in my carry on). All of the chairs were taken in that area, but maybe 25% actually had people in them. So - I grabbed a beverage (long trip - hot day! PLus - it was vacation, right?!:thumbsup2), grabbed a chair from the "bar area" - moved it over so I could see her and immediately was told "You can't move chairs." by the lifeguard. Fine. So - I went to the ledge by the edge of the pool (i had shorts on - took my sandals off) and sat down to watch her. And was told again "You can't sit there with an open container". So I stood up, and moved to the edge of the water. I was told to move further back with my "open container" - which was a plastic bottle of beer - BTW.

Now I was angry. I finally said "If you are going to enforce the rules - enforce them fairly. All of those chairs over there have towels on them, but no one is sitting in them and has not been for the 45 minutes I have been here." I was told again to "back away from the water with your open container." Argh. So - I stood for another 30 minutes and finally - a kind woman gave me her chair and agreed I had been treated rudely by the life guards... and they still did not move any towels from "reserved" chairs.

In the future - I will just sit at one of those chairs and if someone comes back, I will move. But - the life guards were not kind.

BTW - I have sat in the hot tub with a plastic bottle of beer at BCV - and even asked the lifeguard first - and she said that was fine... so not sure why the AKL guards had such an issue with me and my cold beverage. :rotfl:

only on the DIS could you say "my bananas aren't dancing", and not only does no one think you're weird, we all know what you mean!!!:rotfl2:

Tell her no, that resort guests and DVC members that have permission to hop, only.

And that they have a new water system that if a pool freeloader gets in the water it will turn red to out her. ;) :rotfl:

Wouldn't that be great if that really happened?
