I dont remember the pooh ride TERRIBLY well, but I do remember a dark area with heffalumps and whatnot. Is this possibly scary to toddlers? I can't remember it well enough. My daughter is 2. I'm wondering if we should do this ride AFTER our crystal palace lunch, in case it makes her afraid of the pooh characters. She's not a particular scaredy cat, but sometimes dark and startling things freak her out.

The heffalump area has them in birght neon colors under a black light.Nothing really scary at all.Your toddler should be fine on this

My kiddos liked it, wasn't a fav, but they liked it.... you may try searching You Tube for videos of it too :goodvibes:

My son freaked out when Piglets' house was flooded. It wasn't so much the scene, it was the feel of the ride. He did not like the sensation of the vehicle floating. I have to admit, it is a little different, but I, myself like it. I'd say gradually build up on the rides. Start with It's a Small World and Dumbo and see what kind of "rider" she is. She will probably be just fine.

It's funny what will bother kids. When DS12 was 2, Pooh was the only ride he got a little scared on. Fine on the Great Movie Ride, Pirates, Peter Pan, Spaceship Earth etc... I think it was because he knew the characters so well. Also, he didn't like the dark on this one even though it didn't bother him on the other dark rides. :confused3Neither of my other kids ever had a problem on it. Although I would say it is pretty mild there is the potential there I suppose.

as always with these things it depends on the kid - but yes, definitely toddlers can get scared on Pooh in the blustery/raining/flooding part of the ride.

My 18 month old liked Pooh but was afraid of costumed characters! In fact she tolerated most dark rides, Pirates, Haunted Mansion very well but did not like any costumes even "face" characters.

My son was scared of the Pooh ride at 23 months. He wouldn't go on any other "inside" ride after it. The dark and thunder scared him. He did fine on all the "outside" rides though.

The very first time that we took our kids to Disney (they were 4 and 2 back in 2005), both of my girls freaked on that ride. That was the first Disney ride that they ever rode and I think the fact that it was dark inside made them a little leery. Ever since that first time, they have grown to love it (even within the same vacation they wanted to try it again) and now we have to go on it at least once a trip.

My 2 y/o daughter & 3 y/o son love the Winnie The Pooh ride. We ended up riding it four times while at MK in February.

This was one of the first rides my daughter really took notice of and seemed to enjoy, and that was at 8 months. She loved it just as much at 1, 2, 3, and 4. Not scary in the least bit, unless your kid is very easily scared.

Then again, she also fell asleep in the Haunted Mansion that first year, too, so take that for what it's worth...

This was one of DS's favorite rides when he was 3 and 4 years old. It was not scary at all. The music and scenes are all very cheerful.

Every child is so different. Winnie the Pooh was my daughter's first ride, 2 weeks before her 2nd birthday. She loved it. It is her absolute favorite. However, she will not go on Peter Pan again b/c it's too dark (though that one is dark for a longer amount of time) and she liked Pirates of the Caribbean, or at least tolerated the first time through...even had fun waving and saying hi to the pirates... when we took her back for her birthday two years later...she broke down crying as we got on the boat. She hated it. It was probably her fourth time on it. So, you just never know.

I'd do like you suggested and go after the breakfast. Just in case.

My nephew was scared of the heffalumps and woozles part, but then he is scared of this part in the movie, as well. So, if your child is freaked out by them in the movie, then she will probably be scared in the ride. If not, it is not super dark in that part and they are painted very bright colors.

I wouldn't blanket statement that this ride isn't scary at all or that its only scary for a scaredy cat kid. DS7 - had a time around 2 yrs that he did not like it at all. Too dark in many parts and he hated the thunder/lightening spot. DD4 - she has never gotten NOT over liking Pooh. She also hates the thunder/lightening aspect. This child isn't afraid of ANYTHING normally. She will run to hug Darth Vader and Darth Maul, loves most of the other dark rides, but Pooh makes her uncomfortable.

I don't think you'll know until you try it, but as cute as it is, its pretty dark inside. Oddly DD4 really enjoyed Pooh at DLR. The outside loading and brighter nature of the ride made a world of difference.

My DS5 has always been scared of everything...the H and W part of the ride is a little weird, but he didn't even flinch! He even rode when he was 2! You should be fine, it is not a scary ride like SNOW WHITE...that's creepy!:thumbsup2

My daughter is 5 and she found it a little bit scary. She also found Peter Pan a little scary. Having said that, she loved Big Thunder Mountain and Tower of Terror. Go figure!

Every child is different, but I would guess the Pooh ride should be fine. The queue is fun! (Bring hand sanitizer for after.) Have a great trip!
