Pooh in a skirt

not what your thinking I bet. I was at the super soap star weekend and I was waiting in line for who wants to be a millionaire and a head of us was an older ladie who had diarahia (sp.) and it had soaked thru her skirt. The temperature was about 85 degrees so you can just imagine when the wind blew our way what the aroma was like. I never said anything but the ladies around us spared her no mercy. I felt sorry for her but I felt she had the ability to go to the bathroom clean up and go to one of the stores to find something to buy to change into. She knew there was a problem with the smell because about every 5 to 15 minutes she would get out of line then get back in line. It was the longest hour I have ever spent in line and I must say I felt very fortunate not to be the one sitting next to her or the one to sit in the seat after her. Well that is all the drama I have to tell anyone else have anything comparable?

The poor woman. For some people, the body just does not work as well as we age. My own grandmother skipped my wedding because she was so afraid of such an embarassing event. I imagine this was something she wanted to do very much and to have the moment ruined like that must have been so sad.

I apologize for not being sympathetic, and though I do feel bad for her, there are depends and as a human race, we should have enough couth to do something about it. There is no way I would walk around in clothes that have waste in them.

If I was there, I would have offered to go buy her something so she can change. If she said no, I would have kindly told her that she is making the wait unpleasant for others around her and that I just wanted to do something nice for her to keep others from being so rude.

I'm sorry if I'm out of line here, but was it TRULY necessary to post this? I mean, I'm sure it was a story that is out of the ordinary, but I'm sure the lady would be mortified if she knew complete strangers were talking about her and I don't think this has any positive bearing on any of us planning a trip coming up...all it did was disgust me...

Sorry...

Sorry...

You're probably right... but this story definitely belongs here.

That is an awful story. If she was so out of it this happened she probably didn't have the mental ability to take care of the situation. It sounds like she had Alzheimers. My mother is in the early stages, it is an awful thing to have happen. Hopefully, the people near her, "sparing her no mercy", will never be afflicted with such a condition in the presence of such unsympathetic onlookers. I agree, I am not sure this is the right place to post such a sad, pathetic tale.

Alzheimers is a funny thing, if that is even what she had. When my mother was just starting on her sad journey there were many symptoms that we attributed to other things and we probably didn't give her some of the hands on attention and supervision she needed. It may be this woman has many great days where nobody realizes a thing is wrong and her family hasn't caught on yet. Maybe they were off riding a thrill ride and thought a sitdown show would be the best thing for her, having no idea this could possibly happen. Maybe she couldn't remember their whereabouts or cell phone number to call and help her. Half the time my mother doesn't remember how to buy something or use a credit card or cash to do so. Another thing, my mother has cancer and when she was on morphine pain killers this above mentioned problem could strike due to her being on such strong medicine and not having as much control over all of her muscles and functions. I don't know what the deal was, but I do have two very elderly, frail parents. I have learned that getting old is better than the alternative but the loss of dignity that goes with it is often unfair and heartbreaking. This post really epitomizes that whole issue. I hope that lady ended up having some better moments at WDW God bless her. And remember, we will all (if we are lucky) be old someday and may end up in situations we never could have imagined.
