ponchos??

I say bring your poncho's, we used them three days last week. Just to let you know we have old yellow DW poncho with Mickey on them. We were there last week and did not see anyone else with yellow poncho's on. I do have to say that we purchased our ponchos at DL around 1993. When we come home I clean them and let them dry out very well. We only use them when we go to DW which is just about every other year. My DH's just started to rip this trip so I think next trip we will be purchasing new ones.
The newest ones Disney sells are see thru with a castle and wording on them. A little girl in DW had a cute pink one with the princesses on it. Her mom said she bought it from Wal-Mart in Orlando.

If you take the ripped one back they are supposed to give you a new one!

Its worth buying 2 for a $1 ponchos at the dollar store. In the summer you might be able to make it without or you may need ponchos everyday. When you are soaked and go into the air conditioning its freeeeezing.

It makes me sad to hear they don't have the yellow ponchos with Mickey anymore. We have only been there one time when it rained hard enough we needed ponchos and we bought the Mickey ones at Epcot. I absolutely loved that thing. I wore it to football games for several years until it finally ripped. Occasionally I'd see someone else at the games wearing one too. I'd love to have another one. It was a fun unexpected souvenier. I've never even thought about bringing my own for the trip. Makes sense to buy a couple of the cheap ones to have at the hotel so you can take them to the park if you really think it looks like rain and you don't want to fork out the money for the park ones.

Well it rained for about 3 hours at MK today. I finally gave in and put on my $1.00 poncho!! Worked great!!

We went to an arts festival at a mall and they were handing them out for free, we got about 6 and leave them in the car.

This time of year at WDW - get inexpensive ponchos! Those afternoon thunderstorms can get bad. If you don't want to get soaked you can also use them on Kali Rapids at AK.

We always carry at least one poncho each - the $1.00 ones.

While we will not need jackets or anything heavy to cover up, I do bring a button-down/long sleeve shirt (thin) for my backpack. I find some indoor rides, restaurants and bus ride back to room (especially in the evening) a bit too cold especially after being in the sun all day. Fold it, roll it and it's thin/light enough not to take up too much space.

If that ever happens again, pick up some newspapers from your resort sundries shop, wad them up and stuff them into your shoes overnight. The newspaper wicks out the moisture very well, and you'll have dry shoes by morning.

Great tip! :thumbsup2
