Does anyone bother taking these, or buying when your there - and if so whats the best lightweight ones u can get.
Only asking because we got drenched on a ride last time:goodvibes, but because of the humidity in July we just couldn't dry off, and ended up feeling really uncomfortable with wet cold clothes on for the rest of the day..i don't want this to spoil it this time we go, as it stopped us from going on a lot of wet rides after that, and we don't want to miss them.

Kx

Buying WDW poncho's are all part of the fun for us!!! Know exactly what you mean by being wet and not drying off though! Pain in the,.....

i dont know about adults but a shop in my local town sale disney princess and other character ponchos and are so cute if you wanted me to sneaka pic of it i could for you :D

Not sure where you are in Leicester but we have at least 4 WDW ponchos that you could have :)

its fine i can see the shop from work and can pop over when quiet :D

We bought some years ago, wore them for about 30 mins, never since. Threw them away last clear out we had.
Yes they keep the rain off you but then with the heat your clothes still get damp thru sweat.

Yes, we found they are OK for keeping dry on water rides as long as you take them off straight away otherwise it's like wearing your own personal sauna :)

Yes I think I recall actually steaming mine up! :lmao:

As we usually go in september and get caught in our fair share of rain we always take ponchos. We have always bought them in wdw until last year when we bought new adult ones in the Disney Store. Shall be taking them again this year :)

Hope you get to go on the water ridres this time :goodvibes and Goofyish is right they do become like a personal sauna if you dont take them off again afterwards

we still have had some of ours since we first went in 92.but hardly ever ware them.dw picks up a few cheapos from asda which she wares to resturants in evening as well as an umbrella

I am thinking of ordering some of the disposable ones from here

http://www.staydry.co.uk/htm/products.php

just to have in our 'Theme Park Bag' (doesn't everyone have one of these?).
At least then I know they are there and we don't have to find one when the rain comes, or the kids decide last minute they want a go on the water ride.

We bought some in Asda before our last trip and threw them away before we left for home :)

We usually don't bother with them at all as often the rain in the summer is a welcome cool down for us. However, one year we were happily walking around in the rain but this time the temperature dropped and we were freezing cold in July. So we ended up buying some which warmed us up for a while till the condensation kicked in. I would just buy them if you experience heavy rain for a long duration.

We don't bother on water rides at all, the whole point of going on them is to get wet.:) However, we used to wear heavy cotton clothes on these rides but have learnt to wear quick drying clothes, swimshorts and the like, with waterproof sandals and are dry in no time. When we first went many years ago in February we went on a ride in denim and we were still wet by the end of the day.

I agree, the whole purpose of the rides is to get wet - which we thoroughly enjoyed -BUT because of the humidity in Jul/Aug our clothes just wouldnt dry afterwards, and it got quite uncomfortable.

That's when we go in July and August which was why I mentioned the clothing for you as we noticed such a difference to wearing normal summer clothes. The high wicking teeshirts (Rohan, Berghaus, etc) just dry out in about 20 minutes or so, the same so with the shorts as we wear either special high wicking ones or swimshorts. Feet are kept dry with waterproof sandals or Croc type ones. Hope that helps, nothing worse walking round in wet clothes all day.:goodvibes
