PolynesianBride'sPJ 12/6/10 Sunset Pointe- TEASER PICS UP!

ohhhh myyyyy.

myyy oooohh myyyyy.

It is just as stunning as i remember it when you first showed the photos, infact its even better because this dress is your dress. Hunny, forget about the buttons, they will be taken care of, just look at yourself why dont ya! you look a million dollars in that dress! WOW! you definately have the body to pull off this dress- i think it looks better on you than the model!!!

you will look stunning. :lovestruc Now im so excited!! :banana:roll on next year!!!

Ryan will be speechless when he sees you.

OMG it's beautiful!! You look just stunning!!

Now will you come up here and be my personal trainer??? Lol, I would LOVE to look like that in my dress!!

oh you look so beautiful! Love it!
Thanks:goodvibes

you look gorgeous in it! I think once it's all taken in it will be perfect. :goodvibes I agree a french bustle is definitely what you want for that dress. They are more expensive than a regular bustle. Basically instead of the train being picked up and hung on a button the train is folded under itself, if you google it you can see what I mean, it's really hard to describe, but I think that's the way to go.
I will definately have to check that out more, but good to know someone who actually knows what type of bustle that is thinks it sounds right! Thanks!

Oh honey!!! It looks amazing!!! I agree that i think the buttons need to come off after the zipper but it looks like it'll all be taken care of!

You're going to be such a stunning bride!
Awww thanks! The buttons will be off by the end of the week:banana:

Wow! You look so amazing!! I actually don't mind the buttons :confused3
:lmao:It's not that the buttons are that bad... it's just that I paid big $ for this dress and they weren't what I was expecting so I was in shock:lmao: They told me I'll be getting to keep all my extra buttons though- so if anyone wants buttons:lmao:

ohhhh myyyyy.

I know why can't 2010 hurry up! Thanks Stacey you're too sweet!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo

It looks so good on you even without the alterations. The price seems really steep though I think mine will only be about $100.

This link shows different types of bustles:

Thanks for that link I will definately have to check that out... I had never given much thought to bustles before:confused3 I agree the price of alterations does seem steep but I was prepared for it. That's what they tend to run in this area, I asked at every bridal store I went to what the average alterations cost was and was always quoted between $400-$500. One girl I work with got a dress of e-bay for $200 but when she was quoted $600 for the alterations she almost died:lmao:

OMG it's beautiful!! You look just stunning!!

:rotfl2:Trust me you don't want me as your personal trainer:rotfl2: I haven't seen mine since July and haven't worked out on my own either:sad2: BUT I did finally quit my McDonald's habit... I kept just trying to "cut down" but it wasn't working so I went cold turkey 2 weeks ago and haven't cheated yet:yay:

So I have slowly started moving on with the wedding planning again! I FINALLY bit the bullet and ordered our hourglass for the sand ceremony so I will post pics of that when it comes in!

I also found a garter that I LOVE! It's from a seller on Etsy and she will customize it totally to whatever colors, etc. that I want:banana:

I'm thinking of replacing the light orange with fuschia and the blue with green. I originally hadn't been thinking I would have a garter since we're not doing any of the traditional stuff- garter toss, bouquet toss, etc. But I think this is too cute to pass up- and would make a cute pic! Did anyone have a garter and not do a garter toss? Do you think it would show through my dress since it's so fitted?

Oh, that garter is soooo pretty! I think your colours will look nice on it!

I think a lot of people have a garter even though they are not doing the toss. I think it is just fun to have the "things" associated with weddings! If it does stick out of your dress a bit, you can just play with where the garter sits, and move it around so the flower faces a way where it won't show.

Adelia,

Wow!!! That is all I can say about your dress!!! It is awesome!! Don't worry about the buttons, after all the alterations it will be perfect!! I love that garter too-too cute and goes with your tropical theme!!! :)

I think I'm going to go for it! I figure I can move it around and even if I don't find a spot where it doesn't show I can just put it on for a few pics with Misty and then take it off:thumbsup2

The dress is amazing! The garter is awesome! Things are coming together!
Thanks:goodvibes

YAY Maure! Glad you're still around... I keep waiting for an update from you:laughing: Glad you like the dress and I'm so happy you think it will be ok after alterations... I'm still a little nervous but know it will be fine in the end:upsidedow

So... I was waiting on accessories til I tried on the dress in my size but I'm still torn:confused: Color or no color? I love the trends for adding colored shoes etc but since I don't have a big puffy dress I think my shoes may show and think it may look funny. When DF sees me walking down the aisle I don't want him to be staring at my bright shoes sticking out from the bottom of my dress:lmao:. Here's a couple colored shoes that I love- however I can't find these exact ones for sale anywhere

I can't decide if I'd do pink or green I love them both! Here are some dyables that I like... with dyables I could either leave them white or color them. I don't want anything too tall- DF is only 5'6"... I'm 5'0" but he likes me as short as possible:rotfl: so I'm thinking 2" heels would be good

The last 2 are over 2" but less than 3".

As for jewelry I haven't seen much I like... and like shoes sometimes I think I want color but other times I think I want something that's crystal and pearls. Either way I think a Y-shaped necklace would work best with the neckline of my dress but am open to other options:confused: I haven't found many jewelry I really like so I'm thinking I may try to make them myself when I go see my mom in Dec (there's an awesome bead store there and they help you make it) HELP I just can't decide:confused:

I LOVE the garter! super cute! I agree that its something we HAVE to have but i definatly think it would make a cute picture. I'm thinking of getting one myself.

As far as the shoes i could go either way. I kind of like the idea of colored shoes though... and those fuschia ones are awesome! I really really like them!

Oh and DF likes me as short as possible too which is why he wants be to nix the shoes i bought for something with a lower heel. BOYS!

I purchased the second from the bottom ones except mine have an ankle strap...so I don't loose them...:rotfl: I dont want to cinderella it down the aisle...The woman at the store said they were a good choice b/c they were soft and would mold to my foot better than some of the shoes that were hard around the toes. :confused3

I would personally leave them white. I think color might take away from the elegance of your dress...and I agree-your husband should be looking at you not your shoes! :rotfl:

The green ones... those are amazing! :goodvibes

But... If you want a splash of color on your shoes and don't want it all over, a lot of people find colorful brooches and attach them to the front. The blue shoe would be a perfect style for doing that. :thumbsup2 Here is an awesome DIY I stumbled across for doing such a thing: http://adorkable.so-uneek.com/d.php?go=brooch

I like the second last one (of the dyable ones). Pink is my favourite colour, so I have a bias towards that, but I think the green is so unexpected, and would look really great in your locations! (Obviously you have to get shoe pics on you wedding :rotfl:)

Great garter, I've got one and am not doing a toss either.

I think go with white shoes and coloured accessories.

Wooza! That dress is beautiful Adelia!! You look so beautiful and happy in it. I can't imagine how amazing it will look with alterations. As for shoes, I vote for green...but then again I'd never be able to walk down the aisle in heels like that. So probably a smaller heel would be nicer. I do love the idea of a colored shoe though...Perhaps a compromise, a more muted tone?

Thanks for all the opinions ladies! I am still torn... I will probably just get a pair of dyables and then after I get the dress shortened see how much the shoes will show when I'm walking. That or maybe getting 2 pairs of shoes:laughing:- one neutral and one color. Wearing the color ones for a few pics but wearing the neutral ones for the ceremony. I do LOVE the broach idea too but am not the craftiest:confused3 Sorry for not responding to each of you individually but I am at work and don't have much time and am dying to share my happy news....

:banana:I'M GOING TO DISNEY THIS DECEMBER!!!!!!

So here's the story:
I had already scheduled a trip to FL to see my parents Dec 10-20 but wasn't planning on making it to Disney. Ryan isn't coming with me and my parents like Disney but aren't huge fanatics- so I try not to insist on going EVERY time I go to visit them. One of my best friends is going through a really rough time and is in the middle of a divorce so she has been really bummed and stressed out lately so I invited her to come to FL with me just to get away for awhile and relax. She managed to get 4 days off work but then she called me and said...
"I want to go to FL but what I really want is to go to DISNEY and jump on the bed and see Mickey and pretend like I'm a kid again"
She's never to Disney before so we're going! I'm sorry she's having such a rough time but I'm thrilled that we are going! There's nothing better than a little Disney therapy- it is the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!

So I booked us 3 nights at POP, Dec 15-18. I got 2 day Park Hopper tickets with the Disney Dining Plan. All the ADR's I really wanted are of course booked (CRT, Chef Mickey, or Ohana dinner) so I have to figure that out still. The first day when we get there we will probably spend time either in DTD or the Boardwalk area since we don't have park tickets but I haven't spent a lot of time in either of these areas so am open to suggestions for what we should do (and where we should eat). The next day I figure we will do Magic Kingdom all day. Then our 2nd (and final) park day I thought we would do Epcot but she wanted to do AK... so we got park hoppers and will do AK in the am and the Epcot in the evening (AK closes at 5 anyways). Then Friday morning I did manage to get a ressie for the character breakfast at Ohana's and I can show her Sunset Pointe:love: I really need 2 more 1 TS ADR's though and can't seem to make up my mind about where to take her... it's her first Disney experience so I want it to be perfect but all the "classic" places don't have openings:confused:
