Oh Adelia! I saw you posted and thought maybe we got to see your dress again
No pics yet but I'll post a dress update below so stay tuned... I promise pics soon.
So now that you're back are there any new developments?! How have things been with you and ryan?
we missed ya girlie!
Awww, I missed you guys too! Not really any new developments just minor new ideas but I've been trying not to get too wedding obsessed lately bc I just end up driving myself nuts!!! Ryan and I are doing really well, we're on TOTALLY opposite schedules is the only thing. I guess we've always been on opposite schedules (I'm nights and he's days) but now we're at different hospitals so we don't even get to run into each other in the hallway as I'm coming and he's going

Only 10 more months til he graduates though
Is sitting in waiting for dress pics!
Argh no dress pics yet- sorry but I did go try it on...
So a little minor dress drama... WARNING YOU ARE ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE AN OVERTIRED BRIDEZILLA MOMENT
So I worked an extra shift Thursday night 11p-7a bc I wanted a little overtime money to help pad the wedding fund. I knew I wouldn't get much sleep on Friday but this is the story of my life. So Friday morning I couldn't really fall asleep bc I was soooooo excited thinking about my dress

I had a hair appt at 2 pm so decided I would wake up early and go try on my dress before that. So by the time I called to set up the appt and managed to fall asleep it was almost 10 and my alarm was set for 11:30 to go try on my dress! 1.5 hours, that's plenty of sleep right?
So I bounce out of bed, quick wash my face, throw my hair in a pony tail and head to Macy's. They bring in my dress and I am soooo excited, as the open the bag it looks just beautiful- it looks so teeny tiny in my size and I can see the buttons along the zipper and I LOVE them

So I climb in the dress zip it up and immediately look to see the back... since it's my favorite part and-

THEY PUT BUTTONS ALL THE WAY DOWN THE TRAIN!!!!!!!! This is not what we talked about! The buttons were supposed to go down the zipper to the end on where the materials gathers and then STOP just before the train starts

The sales lady is all oooohhhing and aaaaahhhhhhing and all I could say was... "Oh they put buttons all the way down the train, it's just not what I was expecting" and she made some comment like "Looks like you got a good deal then with all those extra buttons"- not the point lady. So I tried to look at the rest of the dress but think I was just so disappointed because I didn't get that FEELING when I put it on like I was expecting. The buttons just really threw me and I think that I was really just overtired so everything just seemed off. It's just such a fitted dress and just a few things being off just made it not feel right. Thinking back I think it actually fit okay, it is still WAY too long (which I expected) but that just made it not lay quite right. I thought it made my butt look kinda flat or fat or SOMETHING. It fit really good around my ribs but the bust will need some adjustments. I really should have asked for a pair of heels so I could get a better idea but I just couldn't get past the buttons
I was wishing I had brought my original receipt with me because it had said exactly what I had ordered but I hadn't... but thinking about the receipt I was pretty sure it had said "buttons as per original design" which they had told me was just to the start of the train... why didn't I have them put that in writing

I think the sales lady (who I found out is also the manager) noticed I was upset about the buttons and told me that they could remove them when they do the alterations- but didn't mention at what cost. So when I was checking out I clarified and she said the receipt did say "buttons as per original design" and that she didn't know what that meant but that they would take care of the cost of removing the buttons.
I had my camera with me but was trying so hard not to have a total bridezilla freak out in the store that I didn't even ask to get pics. I didn't freak out in the store but I called my mom on the way home and almost started crying.

They're just buttons for goodness sake

but I think I was just so disappointed I didn't get that magical feeling when I tried it on

I just kept thinking "Why did I spend so much money on a dress that didn't give that magical feeling?" and "Maybe I should have gotten a traditional poofy dress instead of a fitted dress that's going to show all my flaws?"

The moral of the story is that I never should have gone when I was so tired

I am going to see if I can go back on Monday and arrange to meet with the alterations lady and have those buttons taken off and get an estimate on what alterations will cost and see if the can help me envision more of what the shape of the bottom of the dress will look like once it's altered- and I promise to get pictures then
