That is truly gorgeous on you! Excellent choice! And I'm so glad you got all those free extras. I know how they can mount up (I'm 6'1" and had to pay $250 for extra length and another $250 for an extra foot to the train!).

Thanks Heidi! I never thought about those of you who have to add extra length- it adds up so fast! Atleast mine if I wouldn't HAVE to get the petite cut... I could always just cut more off- but atleast the proportions will be a little better now too! If we do VR's we could get the same dress and I'll mail you my extra length and they can tack it on to yours

Thanks Stacey! I just love the dress and love how I feel in it! I tried on sooo many other things and nothing else gave me that feeling! I paid BIG for that feeling though... $2331- which is sooo unlike me- I'm still kinda shocked that I did it. I've rearranged the budget though and the dress is all paid for and we should still be on schedule to have enough to have the wedding all paid for in cash before our date

The retail price of the dress was ~$2600 at both stores I went to (well it was $2590 at the store I got it at- big $10 savings). Since I bought it at the trunk show I got 10% off and since I bought it in Minneapolis and not FL I didn't have to pay sales tax ~6.5%. Then I got $550 in "freebies". Total cost at the original store I went to would have been $3354.75- so I got a "savings" of $1023.75

its a lot of money for a dress but the way i think of it is- theres not price to your dream dress!? you know when its the one so you will do all you can to afford it. (when i saw one for £3250 i thought it was the one, and wayne was like jeeeeze- its a lot of money but if its the one, then you have to have it) and i went into the bridal shop with no budget and i found my dream dress!

At least you got some savings! I cant wait to see Ryans face when he see's you in that dress!

I figure that since we're getting married at Sunset Pointe we can't have the coach which I believe is $2700... so I got my dress instead of the coach Kinda similar... way overpriced and only lasts for the day but sooo worth it in the end- plus I'll look at the pics forever.

You did the smart thing by waiting for the disvcounts, you saved over a grand!!! That is huge! And since you are getting a petite length hopefully you won't need much heming and altering which will save you even more $$. I bet after all is said and done you saved yourself a few extra hundred bucks by doing it this way

I promise not to make a habit of buying 2K dresses I think I'll still need a few alterations but getting the petite cut will definately cut down on the costs. I'll probably still need a little length off bc petite is 5'4" usually and I'm only 5'0" But hopefully nothing much more will need to be fixed other than a few little tucks here and there. I can't wait for it to come in!!!!

So I called DFTW this am At first I didn't think they were going to take down my info and have a consultant call me The person on the phone said "well I can answer any questions you may have" and all I was thinking was I don't want you to answer my questions I want to be assigned a consultant (since I've heard the people who answers the initial phone calls tend to give faulty information). So I started firing off tons of questions that I really already knew the answers to from the boards and then she put me on hold... finally she came back and took down my information and is going to have someone call me She said it will be 1-2 business days and of course since I work nights and sleep during the day I'm sure I'll be sleeping when they call but it feels good to get the ball rolling

I didnt ask for them to call because of the time difference, instead i asked for the consultant to email me, and then, at least everything from the start will be in writing and you can reply to them whenever! hehe!

Oh- and i emailed misty today and she emailed me straight back! woo! i told her our date and asked her if she could save it if she is free. what package are you going with?

I was wondering if she did a print book / album of photos -i havent totally looked at her website but when i was Francks this year i saw the most amazing old fashioned story books that were the disney weddings photos album!

I hope misty does something like this!
