Polynesian Water View Concierge Alternative?

Hi all, helping a friend plan a trip. I read on a recent trip report that Poly conc is currently in another longhouse and the service leaves much to be desired. Since they are spoiling themselves this trip Hawaii building would have been perfect. They will stay in the room for a decent amount of time just to relax so what do people suggest as alternatives? They do not like Animal Kingdom so that is definitely out. I was thinking perhaps the new Wilderness Lodge concierge, how is it there? Or maybe one of the others on the monorail, but any opinions are welcome. Thanks a bunch. Oh yea, when is the new Hawaii set to open?

Hawaii is scheduled to reopen sometime in October (17-18th have been mentioned). Obviously, you've read some of the less than stellar reports of early transition stays in Tahiti, mine included. I'm eagerly awaiting other viewpoints now that Chef Dick has returned AND the staff has had the opportunity to adjust.

I'm guessing your friend is visiting sometime prior to the concierge return to Hawaii. We are major fans of Polynesian and would gladly stay there regardless of the minor difficulties posed by the transition to Tahiti. We also are not very fond of AKL. We haven't stayed at WL, but did visit there during our last trip. It wouldn't be my choice of a location either--bus/boat service for all parks. The lodge is pretty though, but I thought AKL was also nice, just not our cup of tea.

My husband and I enjoyed BWI when we visited alone. The primary drawback was the distance from the Inn side to the main pool--the quiet pool was closer, however. We also enjoyed our stay at BC--gotta' love the access to EPCOT--and GF--a monorail hotel is always a major plus! All of that said--Polynesian is our favorite. The others have positives as well, we just prefer Polynesian.
