Polynesian Villas & Bungalows... impossible to find points??

Before one posts on the Rent/Trade Board, it is a very good idea to read the pinned thread at the top of the Board:

REQUIRED READING BEFORE POSTING - DVC Rent/Trade policies - CLARIFIED - 07/13/2019

If you read & follow those rules & advice, the chances of getting scammed are significantly reduced. An added plus is that your submission is much more likely to make it past the Mods in a timely manner. Not a day goes by that doesn't require us to decline a thread or delete a previously approved thread for not following the rules. We decline more than we approve.

Do you think that this is true of the Polynesian as well? If I look to try to book that at 7th month or does that go quickly as well?

It may depend on when you are trying to book at seven months out. Some months are a lot easier than others.

That could be spring break, too. Right now April is wide open. If you can book it now, I'd go for it. by the time seven months comes around, you might not be so lucky.

I have gone there... I think. I don’t see anything unless I’m in wrong spot. New to this.

The week before Easter and the week after Easter are very common "spring breaks" for many schools. Those two weeks are always considered Premier season for DVC. Premier season is the most expensive DVC system. Since the days for Easter changes every year, so do the dates for Premier season. It's always includes the weeks surrounding Easter.

Are owners more apt to not rent during premier season? I guess I don’t understand the post. I know the point total is more than other times. Is that what you’re referring to?

Unfortunately what they’re referring to is availability, not cost. Those weeks are very popular and Owners have been able to book those weeks at their home resort since May. It’s quite possible that those weeks are booked up already or that whatever isn’t booked yet will book up in minutes after the 7 month window opens.

When trying to rent at 7 months, owners from other resorts tend to be logging in for their own bookings at 8AM. Most owners renting out points aren't going to be competing at open.

I will say the high points are definitely an issue as well. You need an owner who can cover.

It would be the week before Easter. First week of April. Do you think I should still have a problem?

I would still attempt to find an Poly owner that can secury the reservation prior to the 7 month window. However if you are unable to do so there is no harm in trying to secure it at 7 months. I feel there's a decent chance as long as it is set up to be secured when the window opens. But your best chance is still trying to finda Poly owner prior to then.
