Polynesian Upgrade!

Yes! The magic does still happen!

We checked into the Polynesian Concierage on my birthday, November 8th. When we stopped at valet to see if our room was ready, the guy checked and said, "Yes, your room is ready and you are in a lagoon-view room, right?" I just agreed thinking maybe there was a mix-up. We were supposed to be in a garden-view room. I had heard of it happening to other people but couldn't believe it! We got to the room and it was breathtaking! You could open the patio curtains and look out over the lagoon to the castle directly across the lake. I was in awe!

When I spoke to Kathy at the check-in, she said that she noticed I was in a lagoon-view room. When I said I was going to ask about it, she just winked at me and said, "Sometimes magic just happens!" It was the beginning of the best vacation of my life that just got more magical with each day. We are definitely returning next year and booking the lagoon-view. There is nothing like watching fireworks over the castle as you sit on your patio with the warm breezes. I hope that everyone has as fabulous a vacation as we did!

I am glad that the magic was there for you. We will be at the Polynesian in 10 days and we are booked in 2 garden view rooms. I just love the Poly--no matter what room I am in. If I am there--I am happy!

Glad you were able to experience the magic! We had a lagoon view upgrade a couple of years ago and I agree- It is an amazing view. Glad you enjoyed.

What a wonderful surprise for you! It is so nice to hear little stories like this....especially after what happened to us. We were one of those forced relocations. It was so disappointing to have to leave the Polynesian during our last few days. The AKL is an incrediably beautiful resort, and we have no complaints re: our stay. However, it is too contained and too remote for our tastes. We didn't even feel like we were at Disney World....not the way we planned or wanted to end our anniversary getaway. We truly missed being at the Poly....our room, the CMs, the GCH, the music heard throughout the resort, the beautiful foliage and tiki Gods encountered on our many strolls thoughout the property, the beach and views of the GF, CR, and especially Cinderella's Castle, the fireworks and EWP, the easy monorail access, our walks to the TTC....we missed it all! Our stays there have been absolutely wonderful. So glad yours was especially magical and memorable! And a belated Happy Birthday to you!
