polynesian to animal kingdom ttc or hotel bus stop

What is the best from the Poly to animal kingdom. We are going in Sept when it is slow but can't decide if we need to rent a car or take bus.

Which bus is faster and how long does it take. I believe you can catch bus at the hotel or TTC has a direct bus.

Any ideas?

All Disney resorts have buses to all the theme parks. From the Poly you can catch a bus to the AK or any other park. The Poly probably shares with the GF and the Contemporary but that only adds a few minutes to the trip.

I believe you can walk to the TTC and take a direct bus to the AK but I don't know how much time, if any, it would save you over taking it right from your resort.

The general rule of thumb is to allot about 45 minutes per bus ride. It is probably slightly faster to catch the bus from the TTC, but I don't remember the order in which the resorts are picked-up.

Taking a cab or driving will almost always be faster than taking a Disney bus because you don't have to wait for the bus to arrive, load, unload, etc.

Poly to AK is about 15 minutes. Allow up to 20 minutes wait time.

Return trip will normally stop at Contemporary, and then Poly, so about 20 minutes plus wait time. It could take longer if there is a wheelchair to unload, or guests who take a long time to empty, fold, and then reload their strollers.

There's no advantage to walking to the TTC. And when there is a direct bus, renting a car or hiring a taxi seems like a waste, unless you just don't like crowded buses.

Here are two things to consider.

1) I would wait and see what Longhouse you are staying in. If you are close to the Great Ceremonial House then get the bus from the Polynesian, however if you are close to the TTC walk there and get the bus.

2) With the bus from the Polynesian it might have already came from the Contemporary or you could be sharing with the Grand Floridian and it will stop there before the Animal Kingdom. When getting the bus from the TTC it doesn't stop at any of the Magic Kingdom Resorts.
