WOW
It was absolutely amazing. First trip to disney world stayed at the poly dec11-18.
The ambiance was astounding. So lush, serene, the tiki torches at night, the pool overlooking the lagoon and the castle. I was blown away.
Viewed fireworks from the beach which was even better then bieng in the parks. Captain cooks and kona cafe are suprisingly amazing. Grown up grilled cheese sandwich, tonga toast, homemade chips, then at kona the lamb, fish of the day, and the steak were the best meals ive had there (so was via napoli and the wave)
Im an avid disneylander and vegas go-er. I was afraid the hotel wouldnt live up to the price i was paying for. Let me just say it blew other hotels away. No other hotel ive been to including the venetian and billagio in vegas will give you the ambiance and serenity that the poly gave.
Me and my family will never stay elsewhere.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Watching the fireworks and EWP was one if our fav things during our Poly stay.

We really loved the poly too::goodvibes kona breakfast and dinner was Soo good! Next time we want to try Ohana. I love the rooms, the feel of the resort, the pool, easy access to the monorail. The one thing I hate about it is boarding the bus to leave! Glad you had a great trip! Byw do a search for the presidential suite to view some awesome pics! I would love to stay in the suite one day!

Wow I'm glad to hear such a great review! We are planning our trip for next October and want to stay in one of the Deluxe resorts on the monorail and I had my heart set on the Polynesian. A few other websites I was on gave some pretty poor reviews of the Polynesian. The most common complaint was the condition of the rooms, very old and out dated. How was the room for you?

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a great stay and enjoyed the Poly. We've stayed at all but 3 of the deluxe resorts and the Poly is our favorite. One of our favorite things to do is watch Wishes from the beach (I think it's a better view than in the park too ;)). Everything you mentioned are things we love about the Poly as well.

We have been to WDW lots but will be staying at Poly for the first time in January. I am so happy to hear that you loved it!:)

I was afraid of that too after reading the reviews but i loved the room. The condition was great. I think the bad room reviews are nitpicking or just bad luck. Forget the negative reviews and go for the poly, trust me.

I also visited wilderness lodge, yacht and beach club so i could compare because i actually booked those first but kept switching my reservations and ended up at the poly and sooo glad i did. The wilderness lodge was beautiful, the yacht and beach club had a lovely pool, but compared to the atmosphere of the poly and coming back to a lush tropical paradise after a day at the parks cant be beat.

I just have to respectfully disagree re: being nitpicking when discussing the condition of the rooms. I saw two (stayed in one and DD, DSIL and DGK's in another) in the Hawaii building. For what we paid, it was a disgrace. The lighting is so bad, I had to stand by the window to put on makeup! The CM's in the lounge need to take a class from the CM's at the BWI. Tables were left dirty and sticky--the whole room looked like it needed a stem to stern power wash.

I certainly agree that the location is fantastic and love seeing the castle and fireworks from the patio. And the boat to the MK is quicker than the monorail and leaves you right by security. I just wish they'd fix up the interiors a bit.
The grounds are lovely.

My fav are still yc/bc and BWI. I love how clean the rooms are compared to Poly. plus i hate outer buildings. I like being "inside" where the lobby is.
