Staying at the Polynesian Resort in November, for Family reunion.

Looking at staying at the Rarotonga Longhouse, because it is close to the ceremonial house.

Has anyone ever stayed in this Longhouse?

We love the Polynesian. We've never been in Raratonga but you're right...it is very convenient to the main building. It is also close to the bus stop and pools..faces the quiet pool in fact. But the Polynesian is not that large and very well designed so all longhouses have advantages and none are too far away IMO.

I think Raratonga is under renovation right now so everything should be extra fresh for your trip.

Have fun at the Polynesian...most magical resort of all!

Havent stayed in that longhouse, but did stay in samoa. We did cut through rarotonga during the rainstorms in aug. They were moving mattress etc. So you know you will get a good and brand spanking newly renovated room. It is very close to everything. I dont know if any of their gardenview rooms are parking lot views. Others have said you cant notice it with the foilage. We dont spend too much time in the room anyway so it wouldnt bother us too much. Good luck and you will love the poly. If you have kids take advantage of all the childrens activities they offer.

BVC23 is absolutely correct, all the buildings are relatively close to the GCH.
Whatever your choice I'm sure you will have a great time.

We stayed in Raratonga in December of 2002. This was our first Poly stay, and we loved it. We were on the top floor,facing the quiet pool, not the parking lot. We loved the conveniece of being near the GCH. Especially since it rained almost everyday. Plus, the bus stop is near and you can get to both pools with a short walk. Everyone is right, with the renovation going on, this longhouse should be in great shape! Hope you enjoy your stay!

You'll love the Poly. We were there in Feb and Roratonga is under rehab so you'll have a fresh longhouse for your visit. They told us the renovations would be complete mid-May. It is very close to the Grand Ceremonial House. Be careful though, some of the rooms will have a parking lot view. I would ask for something other than a parking lot. However, I don't think the parking lot views are terrible because of the lovely foilage. Nonetheless, I wouldn't want that for myself.
