I am planning to make a reservation for the Polynesian within the next month for the end of July 2008, is that far enough in advance or are they usually all ready full a year in advance? I know it is a very popular resort and we havent stayed there since our honeymoon 20 years ago. I just wondered how far in advance you all make your reservation at the Polynesian?

As far as what I have experienced, a full year is not necessary, tho I imagine there are those who do it to get whatever they want.

Package rates and reservations for 2008 will be available sometime in August.

You can make a room only reservation today.

I can assure you at this point or even in the next 30 days, you should have no problem with availability.

Joyfulsnuff,
We had reservations set in stone for our vacation in the middle part of June. A job conflict came up and we had to postpone to the last week of June:scared1:. It took a few calls, but we were able to make it happen. We usually book six months out and have never had a problem. Also, booking early does not ensure that your request will be granted. I believe room assingments are made 4 or 5 days before you get there. But if you know when and where, go for it! I love the planning stage. For me, it's half the trip. And bytheway, you picked the best resort (IMHO). :boat: :rockband: :boat:

Back in the day, you had to make your reservations two years in advance for the Contemporary and Polynesian. Thankfully that is no longer the case.

I've never had a problem with availability at the Poly. We've even called for ressies that day (arrived at Pop and didn't care for it) and we got it. The only time I've had any problems was wanting a promotion. There is only so much availability at each resort for the promotions. We tried this past december and the only thing was BWI/BWV.

We booked our trip this year the first day the free dining came out in April and didn't have a problem.

Have fun!
