For all of you Polynesian lovers, which longhouse is your favorite (either one in which you've stayed OR one in which you've always wanted to stay)?

Please vote. If you have time, please leave a message explaining why you feel that way. Thanx.

I voted for Fiji - we stayed there in Dec 2002 after it had been freshly refurbished. :) The great thing about Fiji is you always end up with a water view. Our room was a view of the Volcano pool & the little marina there, but we only paid for a "Garden" view room. Because these rooms don't overlook the main Bay, they are considered "Garden" view. :) We had a room on the top floor with a balcony & it was wonderful. HTH! :)

No problem.. it is happily on the Resort Board now.. I hope you get some answers to your poll.. I love the Polynesian myself..
I think the times we have gone we have stayed in Tonga, which is now Hawaii..

Have fun,
Marsha

I agree arizonacolbys. Fiji is on my "short-list" as well. Actually, it's my #3 choice for our trip this year -- for those very reasons that you mentioned. My first choice is Samoa and my second is Niue.......due to their central location (between both pools) combined with their close proximity to the Great Ceremonial House and the beach........and still not a terribly far walk to either Luau Cove or the Transportation & Ticket Center.

I now see where I misspelled Aotearoa. Looks like I was a little "R" happy when I typed it in the poll.

Sorry

I voted for Tokelau.

1. Garden view price with view of lagoon
2. Close to quiet pool.
3. Equidistant from GCH and TTC. Quick to MK and quick to Epcot.

We stayed in Tokelau but I really wanted Tahiti. but at the time it was being used for concierge. Tokelau was fine, no problem but I loved the closeness to the lagoon of Tahiti. We didn't mind the walk to the pool or GCH.

We have only ever stayed in Hawaii. Third floor, Laggon view. We just can't bring ourselves to go back there unless we stay there. ::yes::

I voted Hawaii, but this is not a very fair choice on my part! I have only stayed in Aotearoa previously, going to Hawaii for the first time in April.

Since I had to pay rack rate for concierge, I'm sure hoping that Hawaii is my favorite longhouse!!;)

6 trips; Aotearoa (2X), Tokelau (2X), Samoa (1X) and Rapa Nui (1X). Prefer Tokelau for location and view but I'd take a room anywhere at the Polynesian.

YES.......Tess you are correct. I forgot. Sorry about the oversight. D'OH!

In an attempt to add "formerly Moorea", it won't let me edit that (nor my misspelling of Aotearoa). Oh well.

I voted Fiji! We loved it there. :) It has the best garden view room in my opinion.

When you look to the left you can definitely see the lagoon and the EWP:

Then when you look straight across you can see the Volcano:

Then when you look to the right you can see the GCH:

I have more Poly pics if anybody needs them. :)

Wow, Erika, what great pictures!! You make me want to be there right now!!:bounce: Move counter, move!!::yes::

I chose Samoa and am surprised not more voted for it. We were just there last week and liked facing the volcano pool and being close to the GCH. We were able to have a 3rd floor balcony and walk right out to the pool for a late swim after returning from the parks. Plus we could still see the lagoon and Cindys castle from our balcony!
Loved our stay at the POLY!:sunny:

Hawaii

We stayed recently and there is absolutely no better location at disney(3rd floor 3505) awesome view of the castle and wishes.
The CM's are FANTASTIC!
The perfect resort for couples or families.

Aloha

I'm, also, surprised that not more people have voted for Samoa. I've been trying to stay in that longhouse for decades an I'm always unlucky enough to NEVER get it. :(

I'm glad you got to stay there! I was beginning to wonder if they saved it for V.I.P.s or something.

It's location is the best (IMHO):
- smack-dab between both pools,
- close proximity to the beach,
- close proximity to the Great Ceremonial House,
- center of the complex so it's not a very far walk to either Luau Cove OR the Transportation & Ticket Center,
etc.

I sure hope I get it this time!!!!!!!!!! :hyper: :teeth:
