Good afternoon Dis,

YC or Polynesian for a family of 4 with 2 boys ages 7 and 4.

Thanks!!

You didn't mention which parks you're going to. Both resorts have activity centers in case you wanted some adults-only time. YC is going through some construction right now. YC has the best pool area, but Poly just had theirs refurbished recently and is also nice. What about dining? There are pros and cons to both. It's kind of hard to reccomend without knowing more about your travel style and plans.

With the ages of your sons I would go with the Polynesian. My kids love the pool are at the BC/YC but they're older now. With younger kids it's a pain in the neck being able to keep an eye on more than one child, especially if they are at different swimming levels.

We're going to all the parks, so the location to the parks isn't my first consideration. Magic Kingdom has been the most difficult for us to get into during past trips, so being able to take the monorail in is a plus for me. I want to eat at Ohana, so it sounds fun to eat there and then watch the fireworks from the beach.

The Poly sounds like your best choice to me also!

The pool is awesome at YC and I was wondering if the rooms there are nicer than Poly.

My choice would be the Poly. We haven't stayed at the YC, but have stayed at the BC and while we had a nice time, we prefer the Mk area over the Epcot area. The Poly rooms are much larger/more spacious, all rooms come with a daybed (which is only a request at the YC), and the tropical atmosphere is beautiful & relaxing. We love everything about the Poly as it's our favorite and you can't beat seeing the castle every day. Good luck deciding, I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

We are doing a split stay poly/Yc next month with with boys, 7 and 2. I'll let you know how it goes!

What time of year? We have stayed at both and you can't go wrong with either. They are our 2 favorites. If you are going during the winter months where it may or may not be swimming weather, then we would pick the Poly. F&W, we love YC. If it is swimming weather time for sure and you plan much pool time, YC has the best pool. The only thing to think about with a 7 and 4 year old is that to get to YC's slide, you walk out of the pool area and across the common walking path- the slide goes from the beach area above the walking path and dumps into the pool. At that age, you might have to spend a lot of time walking them to and from the slide (if you are not sliding too) because you may not want them crossing the public path alone. Poly has easy access to MK (boat or monorail) and also EPCOT because you can walk to the TTC and take the express monorail. YC has easy access to EPCOT and DHS because you can walk to both from there.

We like the pool better at YC but like the resort and location better at Poly. Both are great though and we were very happy with each stay.

We stayed at the Poly in February with our two boys, ages 6 and 4. It was such a fantastic experience that we bought DVC there! The kids had a wonderful time and still talk about it almost every day. They loved the pool, the torch lighting, the monorail, the beach, the fireworks, and many other things. I am sure YC would be a ton of fun, but based on our experience, I would go with the Poly. Have a great time!

I'm a big fan of the YC but it's less a kids resort than the BC, its neighbor or the Poly. From a cost perspective the YC will be less expensive...........while the Poly has monorail access. With kids, if I could make it work financially.........the Poly looks to be the pick..........but I do think the YC/BC pool is best on property.

As others have said, the YC pool beats the Poly pool overall, but the Poly pool is still very nice and it's easier to keep an eye on the kids there. Plus the splash pad is nice for the younger set. We really enjoyed our stay at BC recently but for our next trip, we are returning to the Poly. We love it. Our DS is 4.5 and he had fun at both. He's happy anywhere, honestly!

I vote for the POLY, my choices was BC or POLY and I have 2 girls 14 and 1 age 7 going with me. When we go to WDW we tend to spend most evenings at MK so being able to take the monorail over was a huge plus for us. I thought the teen girls would like the pool better at BC but even they wanted to have the ability to jump on the monorail instead of having to bus it if possible. For pricing, it was only a $200 difference between the two so we went with the POLY. I had thought of maybe doing a split stay but decided against it since I am not a fan of having to move around once settled in for a week.

YC. You cannot beat Stormalong Bay for the kids, and even the adults. My husband and I travel now without kids and we too enjoy SAB. The decor is amazing. Access to Epcot and studios in a heartbeat.

And- while I do like the Poly, the monorail breaks down ALL THE TIME and that alone is a huge frustration when one of the main reasons for staying on a monorail resort is the monorail. We were quite put off by it being broken down more than half the time we were ta the Poly of two separate trips.

You can go to Ohana from any resort. At anytime and still watch the fireworks from the beach. :)

Definitely Poly with the ages of your kids. If monorail is unavailable take the boat. 2nd best access to MK behind Contemporary.
