We went to the Luau last May with all of our kids...11, 9, 6 and 2 (at the time). They liked the show ok...but just ok. They were getting tired toward the end and were ready to go just as it ended.
The food was fine. All the kids liked much of it, but our kids like atypical food. Not that they're not picky (in their own ways) but they tend to like Polynesian food in general. We were all full by the time the meal was over.
The show, on the other hand, was not as satisfying.

We are very glad we went. There is no regret there. I just wouldn't do it again too soon.
I had heard that the show has been changed and unfortunately I can't comment on that. I can just tell you what we experienced last May.
If you've never gone to the Luau, it's a good experience, but I wouldn't go if you're only "sort of" thinking of going. Wait until you're really excited about seeing it.
I hope you enjoy your trip no matter what you decide.
Lisa
