Polynesian lagoon room views

Hi, I booked a lagoon view at the Poly so that my kids (3 and 7) could watch the water parade and fireworks from our room.

Now realizing most of the rooms are 1st and 2nd floor, I’m wondering if we can expect to see the fireworks without having a Theme Park view. As much as we want a balcony, the cost of Theme Park is more than we want to spend on the room.

I see there are 2 lagoon view buildings and Aroratora is farther back. If our chances of seeing the water parade and fireworks are slim (and I want to avoid 1st floor if we can) we might be better off switching to a lower category where we at least have higher chances of getting a balcony.

Any insight on the lagoon views would be appreciated!

Lagoon view means that you will see the lagoon from your balcony or patio. You are not getting a theme park view, which would enable you to see the fireworks well. You may be able to see some of the higher fireworks from your room but they are better viewed from the beach. The water parade should be visible from most lagoon view rooms without too much difficulty.

We stayed in Tuvalu on the first floor and had a great patio. We would sit out there a couple of nights with a glass of wine and watch the Electric Water Parade with no problems. I had originally requested 2nd floor room but when the CM mentioned that there was no real balconies on the second floor, we got first floor instead and totally loved it. From our room, we walked the short distance to the pier and watched the fireworks from there but was clearly able to view the water parade from our room with no obstruction.

I had requested the Tuvalu longhouse and got it so maybe you should request that longhouse so you don't end up in Aroratora (farther back). We were in room 1413...

Thank you! We requested Tuvalu as well. Would you say the patio is a safe distance from the lagoon? I have an active 3-year-old and I’m worried about the alligators. The driver for lagoon view is so we can watch the parade without having to go on the beach at night. Probably over-thinking it but it’s a fear I have...

Our patio was about 3 -4 feet deep and then there was about another 5 feet of grass and then a rock embankment. For us, we weren't concern about alligators but the Mallards were surely very friendly and would sit at our feet every night we sat out with our wine.
