Hoping someone can help.
I am looking to make reserves for 9 nights at Poly for April 2008 ( I know, I plan ahead!), but my only dilemma is that I from what I have read and heard, the weekend I am looking to go in 2008 happens to be Graduation night and for that Friday and Saturday, I have read that the MK closes early (which I can live with, being the occasion).
Having concerns, I actually took time to make a quick call to the Poly, and asked to speak to a manager. I was told that the partying can get Very loud all night, especially at the Poly, due to the graduations.
I asked if that I may be better off doing the Y&B club on Fri, Sat & Sun, and the person thought that might be a good thing to do, being we will have our 9 year old son to think of.

Should I book the Y&B club for the weekend and then go to the Poly, or should we be o.k. at the Poly with our 9 year old and it's not as bad as I'm hearing?

Hard to say, I guess if you have any concerns that it might bother you, then yes don't book any of the MK resorts.

That said many do stay at the Polynesian during this time and never notice it, others have complained, which is probably why they suggested you book elsewhere.

I know that does not really help you, but ultimately you will get some that said it was a bother and a lot that said it wasn't. Your call basically.

You can't go wrong with either resort.

Hi

What dates in April are these as we plan to go from 5-19 April 2008.

Thanks

In May 2006, we stayed at Tokelau (we were towards the beach, facing the quiet pool) for one grad night (the last one). We were not affected by the noise at all, and I am one of those people who is bothered by noise when trying to go to sleep. Plus, I remember being awake for while that first night-and did not hear any noise.

We've been at the Poly during Grad night before. The only thing we heard were fireworks going off very late, other than that we didn't hear anything. Our kids slept right through it. :)

We've stayed at the Poly a few times during Grad nights and never heard a thing except some fireworks.

We've been at the GF for a few grad nights over the years and we have never heard a sound - except for the late-night fireworks.

I am wondering what you are concerned about hearing?

Crowd noise? Are there bands?

I know I have stayed at the Poly LVC when there have been late night hours til 3 and not heard anything.

I just wanted to add that we were at the Poly last year during Grad. Nights and didn't hear a thing. We were in Rarotonga facing the quiet pool.

We too have been there during grad nights. I know if you are at the Poly, they will put a note under your door explaining everything to you. Honestly we didnt hear anything except my ds did hear the fireworks but they are teens so I think they watched them. The things we did notice were the huge and I mean huge amounts of kids being bussed into the staging areas. Lots of cm doing traffic direction etc. I also read once that the kids were congregating at dtd for something lst one year. I dont know if that changes each year. This is a ticketed event so its controlled etc.
