Poly - which would you choose?

Was just looking into booking Poly TPV, and saw that for approximately the same price I could book GV-CL. Which would you choose and why?

I guess I don't really see what the huge draw for CL is - what am I missing?

Thanks for any help!

For us, we really utilized the CL lounge for breakfast, evening appetizers and beverages 24/7. I never even went to the pool bar because I was so in love with the adult punch in the lounge. And we only ate in Capt Cooks twice in 10 days. Usually we had breakfast in the lounge and then made lunch our big meal for the day. In the evenings, the appetizers were perfect.

This worked out great for us because the dining plan wasn't a good fit (our 12 dd would have been charged as an adult but eats mostly from the children's menus). So instead of getting the dining plan, we used a room-only discount to stay club level.

But I will add, we stayed in a TPV room in the Hawaii building and while we all loved the lounge, our fondest memory of our trip was standing out on the balcony watching the fireworks most evenings. Every time any of us hear the song from Pirates(from the Summer fireworks), we remember the incredible view from our room.

Should you go with the Garden View - Club Level room you can still see the Cinderella's Castle along with Wishes from the lounge in the Hawaii Longhouse, along with getting everything else that comes with staying Club Level.

I would choose TPV, personally, but it depends on your priorities and can see why someone would choose otherwise.

For me, the dining experiences are a BIG part of our vacation, as is enjoying a water view from our private balcony. So I don't care much about the free food options -- I'm probably off eating at a TS restaurant at meal times anyway. We stock our own drinks and snacks, and like to enjoy them on our balcony.

On the other hand, with CL you could probably save a lot of money on meals, especially breakfasts and especially if you have a big family and/or young kids that are too young to enjoy sitting at restaurants.

I've enjoyed concierge lounges before, and will again. But for our next trip at the Polynesian, we're choosing TPV over CL, and that was an easy choice for us.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Will totally agree!!! We loved the TPV CL...BUT..if I had to make a choice, I would go with a TPV. We had a patio room...so great with 3 kids. We would sit on the patio and let the kids run around, then watch the fireworks together. It's a memory that our family will cherish forever. Perhaps a 40% off room discount will come out and you can do TPV CL;) That's what I'm hoping for!!! If you click on my TR link below, you can get a full review of the Poly CL with pics....it was really nice.

We have stayed in both and I prefer the TPV over CL because we love watching the fireworks from our balcony and when DH is napping I like to sit out there and just chill

The CL is nice but really it is all about the food (we make our own ressies and do not need IPO help) and the food isnt that fantastic to make up the price difference.

Well, we typically stay GV because we are not really in the room that much to sit and enjoy the TPV. I think your final decision will come down to what will you use more and what will you enjoy more. For us, we really like CL. We eat breakfast every morning in the lounge, as well beverages (adult and otherwise) throughout the day as we are coming and going from the resort, and hit afternoon snacks, appetizer/coctail hour or desserts depending on the day. We usually have an ADR for TS for dinner. We watch the EWP and Wishes from either the beach or the lounge.

Here are 2 pictures of the view from our GV CL room from Sept 2010 (not sure how to adjust the size, so apologize in advance if big):
