For our poly stay what building does everyone recommend?? We are doing 1.5 resort days and one park day so would like close to pool, beach and monorail if possible.
Thanks in advance!

My absolute favorite building, other than Hawaii, is Samoa :thumbsup2, but I also love Fiji! Have you studied the resort map?? I highly recommend going to this website: http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/ Tikiman was one of our original resort board experts back in the day and now has the most amazing and extensive resource of Poly info. :goodvibes He has breakdowns of all the buildings, what they offer, how they differ, he has pictures, maps, probably more information than anyone would ever even need to have! :lmao: But I love it! Prepare yourself to fall in love!!

thank you. Do you most times get your request?
Does it affect being upgraded if I put a request in?

Samoa would be great as it's very convenient to everything. It's just steps from the volcano pool, GCH, the beach, and Captain Cooks :thumbsup2. We've only stayed at the Poly once, but I requested Samoa, 1st floor, facing volcano pool (in that order) and the first 2 requests were met, with the CM offering to move us the next morning if we wanted to be on the volcano pool side. We decided to stay put as we didn't check in until around 1:30 a.m. and wanted to get settled and not change rooms, but it was great that they offered. Requests are just that and cannot always be met, but Disney does everything they can to accommodate you :goodvibes.

My vote is for Niue, 1st floor facing the GCH/Volcano pool. We had an awesome room at the end of the hallway, close to the pool. It would literally take just a few steps out of our patio to the Volcano pool, Captian Cooks and the GCH. The bus stop is very close and the walk to the TTC was about 5min.

I loved this location and it's ease to getting anywhere, refilling your mug was so easy, hoping on the monorail was super quick.

We requested 1st floor, close to the GCH and Volcano Pool and got our awesome room. The Poly patio's are huge and so much fun to hang out on.

..another vote for Samoa!

I've only stayed at the Poly once, and was in a first floor room in Samoa (the side of the building not facing the Volcano pool). It was located centrally in the resort, and gave easy access to everything you listed. Additionally, being on the opposite of the building as the main pool, the noise level from outside is cut down significantly.

Enjoy!!

Is first floor patio better than a balcony ??
are there elevators as we will have two strollers!!

Which room level were each of you booked at? Could you be booked in a standard room and still make these requests (even if they ultimately aren't filled)?
Thanks!

I prefer a balcony over a patio. Our 1st floor room in Samoa was great (which I requested), but I have since read too many reports about people having snakes in their room that first floor rooms now freak me out :rotfl: :rotfl:.

We booked a garden view (which is now called standard) and we requested/stayed in Samao. Anyone can make requests regardless of which room type you have :). With that said, your requests must be within that room type category. For example, the Hawaii building is club level, so you can't book a standard view room and request to be in the Hawaii building.

Hawaii is the best to me but I think the majority of those rooms are magic kingdom views and concierge. weve stayed in Tokelau and it was nice! A few steps from the beach and right by the quiet pool.

We have stayed in both Samoa and Niue, and both are so convenient to the pool areas, the restaurants, and the monorail. I didn't find one to be all that different from the other. The Polynesian is so wonderful...have a great vacation!

Thanks. Am leaning towards samoa request.
Does anyone know if the building has elevators? if so should I request balcony or patio with three small kids? looking forward to enjoying a few drinks with dh while kids sleep!!!
