Thanks

On what you want to experience on your vacation. To me the theming means a lot on our vacation. If you you after a certain theme then go with that one.

Yes. What's not to love? If the theme is appealing, then by all means go for it. Take a look at pictures of the lobby, rooms, restaurants, and pools. If you can picture yourself there, then its a match. We stayed at the Poly this summer and loved it but we did do two very enjoyable things at the GF: Pirate Cruise and the Cinderella character meal. Both were fabulous and the grounds were beautiful. Check on refurbs at that time, though.

I hate the GF. The rooms are much smaller (I only stay in the Tahiti, Rapa Nui or Tokelau longhouses at the Poly and the rooms are the largest on property) and I don't really care for the "victorian" theme. I know there are those that love the GF but I really don't. Great news for the GF lovers, I won't be taking up your spot.....;)

We did a 10 night stay at the Poly for your honeymoon Last July. It was the BEST resort we have ever stayed at. We haven't stayed at GF but that really isn't our style. We have stay at alot of different resorts and BCV and Poly are our Favs.

We briefly considered that same question. Typically we stay at the Contemporary, but we were late making reservations last year. It was sold out of MK view rooms so we opted for the Poly. Got to say, we loved it. This year we looked at both the Poly & GF. Poly won out because it was so nice last year. We were on 3rd floor Tuvalu and that worked out great for us. No matter which one you stay in, you can still go to things at the other. For instance, guests at both resorts share the spa. Nice to get a massage in between all the walking. :)

Love both resorts - although Poly is my favorite, absolutely loved GF....BUT...do not know if I would enjoy GF as much without the wonderful room and view we had - even tho it was a garden view we had a view of the lagoon, monorail, MK entrance and WISHES was unbelievable from our balcony. The view was slightly obstructed directly in front, but not to the right; Was hard to leave the balcony.

However at Poly it is hard to find a room with a bad view and the grounds and theme is gorgeous. Do not feel the need for a lagoon view room there.

Would stay at GF again, but would be worried we'd not have as nice a view.

DW and I stayed at Poly many times, did the V&A Dining and Narcossees. we always feel like it is a very formal location. I don't see how you could relax at GF. Also, DW who is a "professional" world class shopper has told me that the merchandise is limited and seems higher priced that the merchandise at the Poly. I will have to take her word on that!;)

I've stayed at the GF twice and really liked it. It was at the time the only resort that changed your linens daily, did automatic turndown, and yes, I found it VERY relaxed! Matter of fact, one year while I was expecting our first child, we stayed at SOG for a week (DH was attending a JAG Officer's conference at the Hilton) and daily I walked across the street and hung out at the GF, ate lunch there, just read a novel in the lobby, got a haircut one day, and enjoyed the ambiance immensely! The staff is so friendly there - this IS Disney after all! They expect folks to come through in shorts and tee shirts, not their Sunday best. The rooms are nice size - we had two queen beds plus a daybed that I guess makes into a little twin bed if needed. I think that their snack bar is nice - I've even taken my kids there from the MK for a quick lunch to avoid the MK's counter service. I find it quieter and like the selection. It's a quick monorail ride away - but that little break is nice when the MK is crowded (and around lunchtime it always is!).
