Poly Tower or Grand Floridian

Here’s the thing with my membership, I’ve already committed to buy (and passed ROFR) the BCV Sept points, but the transaction doesn’t close until next month (presumably seller is finishing up a trip)—if I buy Sept direct VGF points, can I even combine them or would I still have 3 memberships?
They should add the BCV points to the new membership generated by your direct contract

I didn’t know if it could be done if I had already completed the ROFR stage without telling them that I had a Sept UY contract.

I’m actually now leaning towards buying for August because then all my direct points will be together, and if I want to spend a week at a restricted resort that will be most convenient. 🤔

That's essentially what I have. I have an April direct contract and 2 March resale contracts but I'll be keeping all of my direct contracts in my April UY.

So I did just pull the trigger on 150 points (split 50/100) at VGF—but because I’m totally insane (and couldn’t give up $3300) I went with an Oct UY— I am (mentally) committing to sell my Jun VGF resale contract — though I’ll probably spend that money on Poly (if it’s a combined association) or other resale points next year. 😳

Sounds like a solid plan. Congrats :)

we did the same, but decided (after much deliberation) to go with Dec UY for our VGF, as we have a Jun UY for our resale BWV. After discussing it with @Sandisw for a day or 2, it does kind of make sense to have 2 UY's when they are 6 months apart. I couldnt for the life of me get past giving up 2023 pts for MB when i could get 2022 and have our next batch in 3 months. So it looks like BWV pts for summer/fall/early winter, and VGF pts for Winter/Spring, early summer trips. We will try not to transfer pts between the 2 and do more borrowing if we need them. We'll see how it all works out, but at least i see a path for the 2 UYs!

Smart move imo

I agree! Adding BPK to VGF1 is the opposite of adding Poly tower to PVB1. DVD just needs to decide which is more beneficial.

I am eagerly awaiting any news!
I don't necessarily think it's the opposite. I could see people buying deeded Poly2 points to use in the Poly1 if they're the same association for all the same reasons people are picking up BPK points to use in VGF1.

It’s different in the sense that BPK is not only modified hotel rooms and not a building that will have a variety of rooms plus it’s own dining and pool.

Poly tower owners are almost guaranteed to have access to all room sizes…assuming it has lock offs…if it’s a new association..during home resort period.

With BPK, had it been new, those owners would have been strictly limited to resort studios until 7 months.

I understand why it wasn't feasible for them to limit the BPK to a stand alone DVC.

It's completely feasible for the Poly Tower to be a stand alone association for all the reasons you mentioned. My point only is that in terms of people BUYING into it - there are going to be buyers (if it's a combined association) who be interested in buying the Poly2 Tower with intentions of booking the Poly1 studios at the 9-11 month mark, especially for the busy fall/holiday popular times. The advantage of course being that it's a direct purchase, get the blue card, able to use the points at Riviera, Fort Wilderness, and Disneyland - etc over going resale for the Poly1.

With current GFV incentives you can't go wrong. You can likely sell GFV later and transition to poly tower if it turns out to be what you truly wanted and not lose.
