Can anyone tell me if these totems are still on the grounds at the Poly?

When I was a kid, and my family stayed at the Poly my parents would take a picture of my brother and I near these totems each trip.

We are doing a family trip this year, and having dinner at Ohana. I thought it would be fun to take a photo near our old totems if they were still around. Plus we could get one of my nieces there.

Has anyone seen these around, and if so where are they now? From what I can remember they weren't far from a common area - either the old Tangaroa Terrace restaurant, Moana Mickey's Fun Hut or the quick food location near the quiet pool. I know that's not much help, but I definitely remember that they were in a fairly well traveled area. We'd see them and run over to take a picture.

Oh, I love your picture. Boy, does it bring back memories. Those stones used to be all around the grounds as I recall.

Anyway, I think those Tikis are long gone. I don't remember seeing them anytime lately. I do think you're correct about the location though. All three places you mention were in the same building. The sidewalk behind the picture appears to be the one leading to Tangaroa Terrace with the path toward Tahiti and Rapa Nui in the background.

And my boys wore shorts and socks like your brother on our first trips to the Polynesian although they were quite a bit younger. How styles change!:goodvibes

I'm not sure if those EXACT tikis are still there, but there are indeed many Tikis throughout that we have our pics taken with:

I don't know what I find funnier, my brother's socks, or my Dr. Sholls's exercise sandals. I hope I wasn't walking around too much with wood sandals on!

This other picture that I had from a few years earlier their are a few less rocks, and a few more trees. The first one is from 1981, this one I'm not so sure about. I think about 1979 or so.

Old fashions are just scary sometimes though. My parents should be greatful they were spared in these pictures. Their perms are just too funny.
