Hi - does the poly have it's own bus service to DTD or does in share it with anyone else??? Would we be better off driving over there as we have our own car anyway??:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

When we stayed at the Polynesian, the buses were on a shared route. Sometimes shared with WL, sometimes with CR, sometimes (frequently) with GF. The bus to DTD always seemed to have the longest wait times.
When I was as BWV in January, I had a car in order to drive to southern Florida the last day of our WDW stay. We decided to hit DTD on our way south. That was the first time I had driven myself to DTD....man, I was in shock. It took about 12 mins from the time we got to the parking lot, into our car, then drove to DTD, and then finally found the right area of the parking lot. The finding the right parking lot took longer than the drive there!!!!
I realize that the Polynesian is further away from DTD than BWV but it may very well be worth it to drive. THe parking gets a bit crazed in the evening though!

If you have a car, I'd definitely advise that you drive to DTD. Between the wait for the DTD bus to arrive, then the stops at the GF, then waiting for the DTD bus to get back to the Poly....i'd rather drive or take a taxi.

I agree about driving. By the time you get on the bus it takes over 25 minutes most of the time. If you are planning to drive go in the late afternoon because the parking lot can really fill up later in the evening. Then if you do buy some souvenirs you do not have to crawl back on a bus with all of your stuff for another 25 minutes.

We always drive to DTD if at the Polynesian. The only resorts that I would consider WDW transportation are SSR and OKW because there is a boat.

Anyone have an idea of how much a cab might cost from the Poly to DTD? I can't believe we'll be at the Poly in just a week. Our first trip to the World and to the Polynesian!

I would suggest driving yourself because the buses from the Magic Kingdom Resorts to Downtown Disney seem to be the worst. When it comes to the Polynesian sharing bus service with other Resorts, usually they share with the Contemporary and Grand Floridian when going to Downtown Disney.
