Poly Standard Rooms?

Can I jump in here too? I've been all over Tikiman's website reading and trying to determine the best longhouse to request as well. We're going at the end of August and will have our 3 kids with us, the youngest being 6.
I'm debating between Fiji and Samoa. Our last stay was in Pop with a pool view room (booked standard and we were complementarity upgraded) and we didn't like the pool noise. Fiji appeals to me with the views (I think I'd prefer 3rd floor) bur I also hear Samoa is popular but I don't want to be right on top of the pool. I'd prefer being closer to the GCH and don't mind a walk to transportation.
Any suggestions?

Samoa, Niue and Rarotonga are closer to the GCH than Fiji and closer to the pools and transportation. That is why they are so popular. I never felt like I was right on top of the pools from Samoa. I have added photos from the rooms of Samoa in the Samoa album on my longhouse page so you can see what it is like.

Thank you Tikiman! I'll take another look at Samoa on your page.

How long of a walk is Fiji from things do you estimate?

Nothing at Poly is the hike it is at Pop.

Fiji is a very quick walk to the GCH and adds maybe 2-3 minutes to the TTC.

Thanks! We had a room in the 80's section, top floor overlooking the pool. One stay at POFQ, we were the furthest building out (7) and had a room on the outer corner. So maybe a 7 minute walk to the food court and transportation. The Poly seems similar in size to POFQ to me or am I off base here?

Hello. Yes, that view of the lovely hallway was me. It was Tuvalu 3rd floor looking into next longhouse, straight down hallway corridor. I realized after the move I didn't get a picture of it (and I wasn't walking back) Thanks to tikiman, I looked up the room when I got the notice and read all his comments and he was right. It is fine for someone who doesn't plan on being in their room except for sleep. With our little kids we went back during the day and it was kind of hard to relax on balcony while looking down a hallway. If you would get in a room that you really find lacking, you can ask to change. The worse they can do is say no. They may offer to move you in an upgrade for additional cost. If you really don't want to chance it, I would book a lagoon or theme park room.

We love Aotearoa! We lucked out with a third floor room overlooking the Luau Cove Beach, the Castle in the distance & the GF. We could watch Wishes & the water parade from our balcony. And could hear the opening show at the MK over morning coffee on the balcony. Loved it so much, it is now our 1st choice when requesting location. :)

We requested top floor, Aotearoa and got exactly that. Ended up in the last room facing the MK (3217?). It's a standard view, but we could see the castle and the fireworks :) It was perfect.

I stayed in the same exact room in March. There's a great view of the castle for wishes and a view of the monorail sailing by. Can also catch the Electric Water Pageant. It's a great room.

Fiji is further afield of the TTC, but it adds maybe 5 minutes to the walk, and it's a nice walk. And that's if you're walking with kids.
HAHAHA I was hoping someone would catch that.....

Every time Fiji is brought up SOMEONE complains about how far it is.......Seriously? Walking around WDW all day and that's far??
Personally its my favorite house......secluded by the Marina, views of GF, and beach....but don't tell anyone.....
