Poly rooms vs. BC rooms

Are the rooms at the Poly much larger than the BC standard room? Would the view from a garden view Poly be more likely to be a good one than a BC standard view room. Really debating, can't make up my mind! Somebody tell me what to do!

According to my trusty Unofficial Guide to Disney World....Poly rooms are 391 square feet, BC rooms are 381 square feet. Unfortunately I have never stayed at either, so I can't comment on which would be better. Im sure someone here can point you in the right direction! :teeth:

I have stayed at both, and the Polynesian rooms do seem noticeably larger. The ones in the older buildings seem maybe 25% larger, and the ones in the newer buildings, Tokelau, Tahiti, and Rapa Nui, are even larger than that, about 450 sq. ft., and they are absolutely humongous. I was alone in one of those, and I felt like I was wasting space. Those seem about 50% larger than a BC room. I don't know if the percentages are accurate, but that's how it seems. I don't think 381 sounds right for a BC room, I thought they were smaller than that, around 360.

We haven't stayed at the BC but we have stayed at the YC and I definitely thought the room seemed much smaller than our room at the Poly. At the time we had a big double stroller and a crib... it was much tighter at YC.

 Hi :)
My sister and I are contemplating the same thing, not so much room size as for price wise, only I was thinking more of the studio villa at the Beach Club rather than a Poly Lagoon View standard room. Because I thought with us when eating out we always seem to have some left overs and it would be nice to be able to refrigerate them. My sister told me we could order a fridge to be put in our room at the Poly. Is this true?
Which ever one we decide on we will than stay at the other the next time we go, it's just a matter of which one to choose first! ;)
Excellent Thread!! :cool1:

I agree with you Erika about the YC rooms. they don't seem as "deep", is that the word? There wasn't as much room between the foot of the bed and the tv cabinet/dresser and when you open up the daybed there wasn't much room to put the pillows , covers etc. That, however, won't keep us from staying at the YC again, just makes me thankful that I am out of mega stroller mama mode :) Now, if I could just figure out how to encourage the girls to "pack light" ;)
