Hi,
I'd like to reserve 2 rooms for August 2006, and would like to know which building might be best for me:

Since we're travelling with 2 little ones, I think being close to transportation is important to us (TCC...)

I'd like to have a lagoon view. preferably with a view of the castle :)

Are the buildings in good condition? I know of the extensive rehab going on. Will the rehab end by next year? Are all longhouses going through rehab?

How long do you think I need to make the reservation? Since we're coming from abroad, and flight schedules are flexible, can I change the dates of my reservation, without paying a fee?

Thanks for all youe answers... can't wait to get there :cool1:

I'm not Polynesian expert.

I stayed there for my honeymoon last year, and was stressing about which building to choose.

So rather than make a specific request for a building, I said I'd like something on a higher floor with a balcony, and no parking lot view. (I had a garden view).

I ended up in Tokelau, and those requests were met.

I would just note on your reservation a request for a castle view that's close to the TTC. I doubt you'll be disappointed! :)

If you want a guaranteed lagoon view, then you need to pay for that reservation type. Poly has two types of rooms -- garden and lagoon (and then conceigere in both types as well). Some garden view rooms have "peek" or obstructed lagoon views.

From what you are describing, your "ideal" longhouse would be Tahiti lagoon view. The building runs parallel to the lagoon, so pretty much all the lagoon view rooms should have a stright on view of the castle. It is also one of the closest buildings to the TTC (which means you're a bit further from the GCH). Another nice thing about Tahiti is that has a "private" beach in front of it. It is for use of any Poly guest, but it typically not crowded. Tahiti is also one of the new buildings that has the larger floor plan and balconies on both the 2nd and 3rd floors. I'm not sure of the rehab schedule, but the room we had there was in fine condition.

You will find that a request can not be guarenteed, and depending on when you arrive, not all, or maybe none of your requests have been met. Usually, our only request is for a non-smoking room. Other than that, we hope to get something good after we arrive to check in.

Try to arrive early to check in. You won't get your room right away, but they might be able to assing you a room that meets your needs more than if you get there late at night.

Don't ask for a lot of things, because you are limiting your choices. List them in order of importance (non-smoking, near food, near monorail, etc.)
