Poly Question: Tahiti or Not

Arriving late August. My DW will be 30-weeks pregnant, my 4-year-old DS, my 64-year mother-in-law and me are staying at Poly w/Theme Park View.

Right now, I have put a preference for Tahiti based on stuff I've read here plus Tikiman's site.

My concern is this: I expect every mid-day to go from one of the parks back to Poly to hit the volcano pool, suck up as much free soda from my refillable mug as possible, requiring trips to Captain Cook's inside GCH (unless there are other areas to refill my mug) and for most in my party to rest or take a nap.

Is the walk from Tahiti to GCH and the Volcano pool going to become a pain for the 7 days we are there?

Tikiman estimates a five-minute walk, which doesn't sound bad. I also like the fact that Tahiti is very quiet and very close to the TTC.

Any thoughts?

We loved our stay in Tahiti. The proximity to the TTC meant more to us, especially at the end of a busy day. The days we went to the pool were our 'relax' days and we didn't mind the walk.

it's not too far at all, and it's a nice walk. It's fastest (and nicer!) to walk along the beach when going to the pool and to the resort launch. It's also nice to get off the monorail at the TTC when returning from Epcot, it's so close to tahiti.

I stayed at Tahiti and loved the closeness to TTC. I stayed there with my DW who walks with a cane and my sons (at the time) 6 and 4 yr old we never found the walk to the GCH too much.

I am not one who likes to walk when it is hot out. We walked form Samoa to the TTC a few times and it was a nice walk. The paths at the Poly are so pretty you really don't mind walking.

We LOVE staying in Tahiti. The convenient location to the TTC monorails was wonderful, and the walk to the pool or GCH really is not bad at all (we like the short walk along the beach front, esp. first thing in the AM). It is a very peaceful and quiet location.

Really though, everything is located fairly close together at the Poly. And the grounds are so beautiful, that we never mind walking the paths at all. The key is to just kick back and relax and enjoy being at the Poly. No need to be rushing to & fro.
