I was hoping some of you might take a minute to share your opinion with me. I just booked a May trip and made the reservations for the Poly. I am now wondering what would be better for our family. It will be me, DH, and DD5 and DD3. We are staying for 7 nights and will be visiting all of the parks. We picked the Poly because we thought it would be most convienent being on the monorail. We do plan on coming back in the afternoons to go swimming. Is the Poly any more or less convienent than the WL getting to MGM or AKL. And I guess I wonder if its worth $800 more than the WL if it just gets us to Epcot faster since the WL does have boat launch to MK? I am confused - any thoughts/opinions - I would love to hear what you would choose??:confused3

We haven't stayed at WL yet, though we've booked it for April, so we can't really compare the value.

I can say that we absolutely LOVE the Poly, and it is very, very convenient to both Epcot and MK. I don't think the MK will be as convenient from WL. Poly is much closer and offers both the monorail and the boat, both of which are shorter than the ride to the WL. Plus there is something special about being on the monorail. I'm thinking that travelling to Studios and AK will be equal. With kids 5 & 3, you might find yourselves most of the time at MK.

The Poly pool is fantastic and your kids are a great age for the zero-entry. The rooms are bigger at the Poly. No one can decide for you if it is "worth" $800.

We are having a hard time NOT staying at the Poly this time, but we have decided that we want to try several resorts, and WL is first on our list. Bottom line is that whatever you decide can't be a bad choice!

I would stick with Poly-it really is a wonderful resort. and nothing beats the luxury of a monorail right in your resort! The pool is amazing, views, food, can't say enough about it!!

They are both great resorts and you can't go wrong either way. I'd tip my hat to the Poly on location/convenience/room size and WL on price. From the either the Poly or the WL you will take a bus to DS or AK, but Poly offers 3 options on getting to/from the MK and it has almost a direct monorail to the Epcot (if you walk to the TTC).

I think little kids just love monorails too. Its always fun to sit up with the driver at least once when you are little.

That said; if the money is a stretch then save it by staying at the WL and I doubt you'll be disappointed. What's not to love?

Thanks for all the great feedback. I think I will more than likely stick with the Poly. I just started to have second thoughts when i read an earlier post about the fact that there really is no easy way to MGM from the Poly since the resorts share buses - i started to question if the poly was truly as convienent as i imagine it to be. But you are all right - we can't go wrong either place!

IMHO, I would stay at the Wl and request a room with bunk beds. The kids love the bunks and you get a little extra room.

The rooms at the Poly are much larger than the rooms at WL. You don't need the extra space that a bunk bed would provide. also, you can't beat the Poly's location. The monorail allows you access to both Mk and Epcot which no other reosrt has. The pool at the Poly is larger and there is a great sandy beach nearby. The Poly is by far our favorite. The only down side to the Poly is the price, but if you can afford it, defintiely go for it. you won't be sorry. Jay

Having stayed at both Resorts I would pick the Polynesian because of the Monorail factor and with little kids who would be 3 and 5 years old, it will make things a lot easier.
