Poly or other Deluxe?

We recently stayed at AKL and loved. We want to stay at the Poly but after looking into it, I have some questions.
I know people love it, but

Don't you have to walk outside to each of the Longhouses? AKL, WL etc.. you go into the lobby and their are interior corridors. Isn't this what makes a deluxe, a deluxe?

There are no jacuzzis?

It is older and under renovation?

My daughter really wants to stay there in July, but I am now considering other deluxes. I do not want to stay at AKL again, because I am trying to stay at different places.

Poly is so pricey, why is worth the money?

Am I correct about being exterior corridors?

Poly is a lovely resort, but it isn't for everyone. If having an inside connection to the main lobby is important to you, Poly is not the place for you. The longhouses are separate buildings that are not connected to the Great Ceremonial House. The walkways are beautiful. Personally, I never thought that being connected to the lobby makes a deluxe. Grand Floridian then, with that definition, would not be deluxe. The corridors within the longhouses are all internal.

There is no jacuzzi.

There is renovation going on. We were there in February and were in a lovely room in Fiji. The building right next to us was undergoing renovation. You could see it, but it was not an interference by sight or sound. All developments of this size need to be renovated or under other major upkeep at various times.

The Poly is more expensive than AKL and WL, but we preferred it to WL. The rooms are larger and more airy. We also loved the service, pool, and housekeeping. Just a thought -- Maybe you should try WL this time? I don't believe you'd be disappointed in Poly, but if you have that many reservations about staying there, I would do a site check during your next visit to see if you liked the theming, etc.

I've stayed at the Polynesian and did enjoy it. All of the Longhouses are separate buildings and none are attached to the main building. You have to walk outside to get to the main building, bus stop & monorail.

Having said all that, the Wilderness Lodge is still my favorite. I love the fact that this resort is so compact. It's a quick walk to everything and there is boat launches to both the Magic Kingdom & Contemporary. There is also 2 pools and 3 hot tubs. I had room #: 5032 the last time I stayed there and it was great!! It was next to the elevators, but the room was very quiet. Also, the view from the room was amazing!! Click on the link below for pictures of both the room and the view. This is considered a "woods" view room.
