We have stayed at both several times. Both are comparable. Both have their fans. Neither is "better".

I suggest looking at online photos and going with the one whose theming appeals to you.

Are they both "Deluxe" Studios, or is the VGF a "Resort" Studio? I would choose a VGF Deluxe Studio over a Poly Studio, but I think a Poly Studio trumps a VGF Resort Studio.

It is a GFV resort studio.I'm guessing they are smaller than the poly?

They don't have a kitchenette. They don't have a split bath. They have 2 real queen size beds (if that's a consideration) and the "sofa" doesn't face the TV. They're basically a hotel room.

ETA: The Poly studio is 465 sq. ft. The VGF resort studio is at least 447 sq. ft. (some can be larger but have no balcony).

I would go Grand Floridian hands down, although the resort studio doesn't have a true kitchenette. So if that's important then...

I love the VGF but honestly, the new resort studios just won’t do for us so if I had to chose that, then I’d do Poly.

The short walk to from the Poly DVC bldgs to the TTC Monorails is really nice and a huge time saver. I loved (DW not so much) the PVB standard view studio when we stayed this last Jan. The room is huge and the pull down Murphy bed made a great man-cave while DW wanted to watch TV and play on her tablet. You will enjoy PVB. Stop by the DVC kiosk (or call your DVC guide) and ask for a quick tour of DVC bungalows. Very impressive, but out of our point range! Enjoy your trip.

This is tough but give me to October and I can give you personal experience on both resorts. I just book the VGF Resort Lagoon View Studio for early August. Then in late September I will in a Poly lake View Studio.

The Poly Studios look fantastic, especially the spilt bathroom with 2 showers. And I can’t wait to sit on the balcony and watch the fireworks.

But, I love VGF too. I think the Resort Studio looks absolutely beautiful. I will only be there for 4 nights and the only thing I need is the Kerurig and the cooler. The location of the building is a plus.

Both DVC are part of a really large resort. Both resorts are a drawn for folks not staying there. But location on the monorail and lakes are such a great perk.

Good luck with your decision.😎👍🏻

The decision has been made and the winner is Poly. We've never stayed at either but always liked the vibe at Poly over VGF. But the restaurants (Narcoosees, Citricos and of course V&A) are the trifecta...Even if V&A's isn't open.

You can’t go wrong with either one. Poly - Kona Cafe, Capt Cooks and Ohana’s. Poly has a much more casual vibe… more shade. Lush gardens. And you can just hop the monorail or walk over to GF.
Have a great time. I can’t wait to visit both. I stayed at VGF in 2018, but I haven’t stayed at the Poly since 2003!!
I am feeling very lucky this year.😎👍🏻💫✨

Good choice with Polynesian. We’ve stayed at both VGF and PVB and MUCH MUCH MUCH prefer the Poly.

The vibe at the Grand is a little too stuffy for our tastes while the Poly is more laid back and relaxed.

We’d pick Poly 10/10 times.

We are doing a split stay over July 4th week. We could not decide so went with both. Love that they are right next door and both have different vibes but same convenient location. Picked the GF for first half of the trip so we could walk home from MK after the 4th fireworks. You can easily walk your luggage over to the other resort or Disney moves it over for you.

Yup, it's a mere 10-15 minute (brisk vs. stroll) walk. Lovely to do for 'Ohana breakfast and on to ropedrop the MK.

Since we're VGF-only and you've booked That Other One 😉, the GF Cafe does a pretty tasty breakfast-in-reverse for Poly lovers.
