Which resort and room type would you want to stay at during your visit to WDW- savannah view room at animal kingdom lodge, savannah view studio room at animal kingdom jambo villas, studio standard view at animal kingdom kandani villas, or garden view at the polynesian resort? We do have a car. I can change our plans around to make all of these options cost the same amount and as of right now there is availability for all. Our trip is planned for the week of Thanksgiving - me, dh, dd- 9 yrs, ddbff - 9 yrs. Thanks.

We have stayed in a savannah view room at AKL and a studio room at Jambo villas. The studios are small with a queen bed and a sofa sleeper. There isn't a lot of room to move around. The rooms at Poly are very large and I think your daughter and friend would love it there. AKL has always been one of our favorite vacation resorts and we stayed there last year the week after Thanksgiving. However, we do love the Poly and if the rate is the same I would definitely stay there.

I agree with Disney grandma, AKL is cool but if you can get the same rate at The Poly I would go with The Poly. Book AKL next time.

We actually booked a savannah view room at AKL for May. But, after much discussion, we changed our ressies and went with the Poly. We decided that with 3 small children it would be a better fit for us. The rooms are bigger and can sleep 5, plus the monorail is super convenient to MK & EP....no waiting on buses. We will also be eating at GF & CR....very close....the monorail can get us there quickly. AKL is so far away from everything. Hopefully we made the right decision....guess we will find out ;)

Happy Planning!:cool1:

We stayed at AKV and BCV in May. Given your choices I would go with the Poly. We liked AKV but it was a let down after BCV. It is far from everything and the rooms do feel a little cramped.
The Poly is much more accessible, great pool, fireworks every night on the beach!
Now if you are willing to consider BCV that would win for me. The pool is amazing, walking into Epcot, studio felt roomier than AKV and villas guarantee a balcony!
Good luck!

PS- I do not know if I would pay extra for savanah view. There were great places to view the animals all over the resort!

We had AKL with Savannah view booked for this October but when we discovered it cost about the same to stay at the Poly with garden view we switched!

We are excited and can't wait to experience the Poly. :cool1:

I would go with the Polynesian because in my opinion they have the better theme, a much better overall location and a lot more transportation options.

We stayed at the AKL in a savannah view last Oct and the view of the animals was incredible...we had a great time but I would choose the Poly any day (we have stayed at the garden rooms 4 times there) because the location is so much better than the AKL...to rely on the buses all the time and be so far out was just a huge pain for us.

Kidani Village Studios are the biggest studios on property, they have 1.5 bathrooms compared to one everywhere else.

Just returned from an 8 day stay at AKL in a bunk bed room. Had 2 teens and another adult with me. We did not feel crowded and we had great animals outside our balcony every day. Zebra, kudu, ankola cattle, a family of Giraffes, etc. A friend was staying in a one bedroom at the AKV (commonly referred to on property as Jambo House). It had a very nice sized queen bed. Bathroom was not attached to bedroom but accessible to the bedroom and living room. It was a VERY LARGE bathroom and the toilet had its own water closet. The sleeper sofa was quite comfortable and the rest of the amenities were above par. A very deluxe feel for this "in-between" resort.

We were informed by a cast member at Kidani that the studio's at Kidani have one and one half bathrooms. They are the largest studios on property. Also, the pool at Kidani houses two water slides, one for the normal crowd and one for little children. There is also a play area, most of which is devoted entirely to a kids waterpark type play area, the other to a playground area. It is considered the best pool on property.

Okay, I guess everyone knows what I prefer.

I stayed in one. It is not 1 1/2 baths. It is a very big bathroom with a double sink vanity and shower and then the toilet is behind a closed door.

I would prefer AKL. We loved it there. The savannah view rooms are amazing. We stayed in a 2BR. Had animals on our savannah every time over 8 days except one afternoon. Totally worth it for any animal lover! We loved the pool area as well. Wonderfully themed like you were at a watering hole in Africa. Boma is also a plus - wonderful food. We didn't feel removed from anything. We drove ourselves and it didn't take a lot of time to get anywhere - including MK.

I'm in the minority but I don't get the big deal with the Poly. If I had to pick a monorail resort, I'd stay CR before Poly. But that's just my taste :)

Poly, can't go wrong with the location and also the CM's there are super friendly, probably the friendliest out of all the resorts.
