We are currently staying at the Polynesian and are hoping to go to Hollywood Studios to be there by 5:30 tomorrow morning. Only problem is, no one can really tell us how to get there with the RunDisney Half Marathon tomorrow.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I know it’s last minute, but this is not good...

Not surprised that you’re finding info hard to come by on the ground.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I think that there are just enough roadways open for Poly and GF cars/buses to get out/away when needed. Here’s map with road closures - toggle to the Half Marathon on the legend on the left: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1j_uOkdtjTQ1PaxD0iVMKpZ6iYZsaoswp&ll=28.395309065379344,-81.57282798367333&z=15

I think buses leave via Seven Seas Drive to World Drive to Vista Drive and take a long detour around to get to DHS. Same if you are driving.

This site has some info on road closures with a map, although none of it specifically addresses Poly guests: https://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2020/01/walt-disney-world-roadways-and-park.html

My main advice - build in LOTS of extra time. Not sure why you want to be there at 5:30am - I’m assuming for RotR? You may have reasons for wanting to be there that early, but if it’s just RotR then as long as you’re in the park just before 7am, you’ll be OK.

@WRLeGrand - How did it go?

Thank you so much! We decided it was better to be safe than sorry. We grabbed an Uber at 4:30 am to make sure that we got away from the Polynesian. We did have to take an extremely LOOONG route around property and came in past Disney Springs. It took about 35-40 minutes and the Uber was about 3x the cost of what it typically would have been.

With that said, we were about 8 back from the turn-style and we did get Group 31 for Rise of the Resistance. We were able to do the Millennium Falcon ride and Olga's Cantina by 7:45.

Our group was called for Rise of the Resistance at 8:07, but we had a DVC presentation at Riviera at 9:00. We went there via Skyline and came back to HS around 9:45. The ride was down when we got back, so we were told we could come back anytime for the rest of the day after it opened back up. We ate at ABC Commissary, then walked over and it was just opening back up. Awesome ride (this was our second time). However, the first time we did not get to do the set-up elements. Definitely a totally different experience when you get to do the entire thing!
