I know this has been asked before but I have ressies for the luau on our last night Dec.14th.I thought it would be fun and also a great opportunity to watch fireworks from MK and floating parade.Going with DH,DM and DS(4).I have heard many mixed reviews and thought that if it really wasn't that great maybe we would spend our last night in MGM doing Fantasmic and Osbourne Lights instead. All opinions greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Kim

In my opinion...yes, it is worth it. I have heard mixed reviews on the food, but I have only heard good things about the show itself. We have been three times, and each time the menu has been slightly different. Some years the menu has been better than others, although the show has always been superb. I should mention that it has been a few years since we have been. All in all, I would recommend it.

Have fun...

Go for the show but the food is medocre at best.

I was also worried about the Luau when we went. My DD was 5 and she loved it. We are going back to Disney next month and DD & DH wanted to do it again, but I talked them into trying something different. We would definatly do it again though and we all enjoyed the food. Give it a try. ;)

Thanks for the replies and I think we'll keep our plans! It sounded exciting to me and like a great last evening!

I vote for you keeping the Luau. I have 2 daughters, ages 2 and 6, and we've gone to the luau the last two Junes that we visited the world.

We are going again this NYE, and I also had to talk my family into trying something different.

We've had really good luck with the food. The second time was better than the first. But the show has always been good enough to keep my youngest daughter's attention. That says a whole lot!

We went for the first time on the 13th of November. We ALL (15) enjoyed it. The ribs came right off the bone, the chicken was yummy, salad great, cheese rolls my DD favorite etc. You get many mixed reviews on the boards, so I just go for it when I want to try something new. We are usually pretty pleased.

Have a great trip!

Just thought I would put my two cents in here. We have never been to the luau because of all the mixed reviews. But just last week we ate at Ohanas for the first time.

:Pinkbounc This is now our favorite restaurant at WDW :Pinkbounc

This just gives you another option to think about. If you decide to go to Ohanas ask for a window seat and schedule your PS so that you are at dinner for the FIS fireworks.

Have fun

I agree about O'Hana's. We go there every trip on our first night. It is our absolute favorite!!!!
